i am borowing a friends remington semi 12 guage for tomorows goose hunt just to see if i like it better then my pump. the choke in it says remington IMP CYL. i asked him if that was the same as mod. because that waht i shootin in my 12 and he said that imp. lead is the same as mod. steel.....that sound right?
okiebowhunter
for geese your gunna probly want the mod... even tho steel patterns tighter than lead your gunna want the mod for geese
deucebump
Okie is right that steel chokes tighter than lead, but the Imp Cly will be just fine for you if you are shooting decoying birds. If you are shooting long shots at passing birds you will probably need a tighter tube.

Don't worry so much about chokes! Get out in front of em' and bang away! I shoot a briley imp. cyl. in my 870 and never have had a problem touching geese with it!

I have shot everything from greater canda's to little doves with a Briley Imp. Cly. I find that many time people are shooting way to much choke espically at ducks and geese.

I couldn't agree any more GreeneCo. I never change that choke, and couldn't if I wanted to but that is besides the point. I shoot everything with Imp Cyl and never think twice about it.

You guess mucho correcto bud!! I have not had the opportunity to really turkey hunt! I have worked on some big ranches that I had the opportunity to do so, but the cowhands I worked with weren't much about it, they were all more into chasing to the city and hunting "wool" on the weekends so I had to adapt to that lifestyle outside of work(if you catch my drift)!!! But one day I want to hunt Turkeys too! And I promise I will change my choke for that particular hunt!
GreeneCoDeerKiller
I don't suggest taking it up, between that and the ducks and geese it will ruin a good man. Ducks and geese doing right in the fall and winters and gobbling toms in the spring their is not much better.

i shoot a remington model 1148 for waterfowl and it has a modified choke in it, ive dropped more ducks and geese with that thing then i can think of. but if someone is saying an improved cylinder wont work there lieing the pellets come out you can hit em but maybe not at farther ranges, someone once told me i couldnt kill a goose with a number 4 shot and i did so its up to you to TRY IT and see if it works
