I will start out by saying thank you to Branden for pointing me to some decent areas to check out.

all in all i had a good trip, i did have a hard time finding a decent place to camp, but other then that it was a good trip, i ended up camping by a lake which was nice but it was right out in the open, and i had 60 mph winds a couple of nights so that kind of sucked.

I spent 6 days just scouting trying to find some Elk, and to be honest they were hard to find, i found two areas that had decent sign and concentrated on them, on the forth day it finally paid off, i left camp that morning and it was snowing it was about a 30 mile drive to where i was going to hunt, the roads were pretty slippery from the snow, i got to where i was parking my truck and was about 35 minutes later than i wanted to be, and i still had a 8 mile ride on my quad to get to where i was hunting, it was all ready breaking day light when i got there i parked my quad and headed to where i want to take a stand watching a draw, when i got there i couldn't see the draw as good as i wanted to, so i decided to move up to the next ridge so i could see it better, i had went about 300 yards as fast as i could because i was so late getting there already and still had a couple hundred more yards to go to get to where i wanted to be, and needless to say being a flat lander i was huffing and puffing pretty bad. when i looked up the ridge and i could see the tips of a rack starting to come over the ridge, i dropped to my knees and there he was looking right in my direction, i didn't know if he saw me or not, there wasn't much cover around me. i was afraid to try to set up my shooting sticks because he was looking right at me, so i decide to try to free hand the shot at about 175 yards, being winded i was having a hard time holding steady on him i touched one off and he ran straight at me about 30 yards i touched it off again and he turned and ran about 125 yard, now he is around 200 yard, i couldn't believe now tuff he was, the adrenaline finally kicked and i could told steady i touched off one more shot and down he went. i hit him with all 3 shots. i finally got a bull, he is no monster by any means a small 4 x 6. but i am very happy with him.

i need to take the time and figure out how to post a picture on here, i have some real nice scenery pictures to.
Branden said he will add some pictures of my bull for me. so they will be hear soon.

i can't wait till next year.
