Im the last day killer. I kill everything on the last day of season. Every deer to date has been one this "epic" day. Today was no different.
Just like a usual day I got up facing the white wall next to my bed. I had left the TV on the night before so it looked as if the sun has shone its light in my room and I had woke up late. I stumble to get out of bed and to see that I'm up 10 minutes before my alarm.
Ok enough of that, on to the day.
Morning starts out slowsa saw two deer (doe and maybe a buck but was gone too fast). Time passes and miles are treaded. I look to fine a moving "stump" to fing out it's a lead cow that had me pinned tooked in the binos to see the rest of the herd and saw the bull, which was a long framed 5x4 NICE bull.
The day continues as I head to a spot that I have not gone all year, and this is where it gets fun.
I scan a hill side to see a lot of nothing, then hop on the fourwheeler and mozzy down the path I look over the side and see a big body. I jump off load and put a round in. I see horns past the ears and a fork so he is a dead deer in my book. I put the cross hairs on the base of his neck as he was headed up hill stopped quartering away looking back at me at about 100 yards. Click goes the safety and I squeeze the trigger and the 300 Win Mag barks to life. I hear the bullet hit the buck and I see him fold in his tracks.
I cut around the bottom of the ridge to him after I find him through all the brush I see wat I couldnt see in the scope a beautiful 3x3 with eye gaurds. I drag him bout 200yards to the four-wheeler trail. Where I envelope myself in gutting him myself and getting him on the front rack of the four-wheeler. Thus leading to a jolly good ride back home!
He green scored at 105" gross and 103 1/4" after deductions.
