Had some great hunts this week, I guess the cooler weather had them moveing. The first coyote came behind my house. I set up in a fence row where I could see about 500 yards across a hay field toward a small thicket, I think they have a den in it. I started out with the Primos lil' Dog and called with it for about twenty seconds and then switched to a Stanley Scruggs rabbit squealer and after about ten seconds I seen a head pop up out of the thicket. A few more calls and he was running straight toward me, I figured 25 yards was close enough and put an end to a great hunt.

This hunt took place at a different location a few days later on a cattle farm. As soon as I got to this farm I seen a coyote go into a gully about 300 yards off. I rushed up to a clump of trees about 200 yards from the gully and started calling with a distress call and this guy come barrelling out of the gully right toward me. He stopped at about ninety yards and the .270 put him down.

The sad part though is that I screwed up two other hunts this week so I should really have four dogs down, oh well .
