Sony Handicam, makes a good hard drive camera. They have it at the bestbuy by my house for 477, but that comes with a tripod and a couple of other things.

I bought a sony dcr-dvd610 for under $200 from sonystyle.com. It was a refurb, but a very good cam for the money. I use it on paranormal investigations and have been taking it with me hunting.

The Canon HV20 and 30 are very good videocameras in that price range. As a matter of fact, they have video quality as good as some higher end cameras. I got a refirbished HV20 from NewEgg this spring and absolutely love it. Somewhere around $450. The new HV40's are out so the prices should come down some.

The Canon HV's even have their own Forums. Great for getting any questions answered. If you go there, use the search first, or you will get flamed by their admins. lol.

Don't forget to do some some research on this model if your looking around.
