I have never owned a muzzle loader and I am looking to get one. Of coarse I hear a lot of good about them. How bout you do your best to talk me out of it....... cool.gif

These days its just plain dumbfounding how accurate these things are. I've heard good things about the Triumph and how it can stack up to the Encore, Omega and CVA Optima. I killed my first deer with a muzzleloader 3 years ago and since then, I'll take the muzzleloader instead of the shotgun or rifle more often that not. One shot, one kill and a big ol' cloud of smoke. Its nothing short of cool. Do yourself a favor and buy one.

muzzeloaders are awesome took my first deer with one too....a 5 pt and i can say that they are worth the money just make sure you keep it clean or it will be ruined....i have the T/C Black Diamond its older but still as accurate as the newer ones good luck and safe hunting

If i was buying a new ML right now it would be that new one that CVA has out right now, i cant think of the name right now for the life of me but i have seen it and its awesome.

I have the cva optima pro and also the T/C pro-hunter, i paid 750.00 for the pro-hunter and about 400.00 for the optima and they both shoot the same. If anything the optima shoots better.

I been buying T/C for years but decided lately that i wont buy T/C anymore, thats just because of their latest commercial they have out advertising their center fire. Dont know who else has noticed it but they had to curse in it, i guess they thought that might make it sell better. Its where they say at the end of the commercial, ---- straight. That done it for me. But thats just me.

Oh yea, i just thought of the name of the cva, it is called an accura, you can get it in stainless/camo with a 27in barrel for about 500.00. verses, 750.00 and 800.00 for the T/C.

I would sell my pro-hunter if i had a buyer, worth the $. Or anything else i have t/c. Dont know why i thought i had to have one, my cva shoots great, i guess at the time, it was the going thing.

Hope this helps. wink.gif

i would love to try to talk you out of one, BUT they are awesome, i have the TC Omega 50 Cal. with a 5 x 15 x 40 scope on it, and it shoots 2" groups at 200 yards, and i am not a real good target shooter, my buddy shoots better groups with it then i do.

The Remington Genesis is a great Muzzle Loader for a lot cheaper.

You should buy one, they are real fun to shoot .I own a Traditions, lighting bolt-action in line, bought new @Bass pro 7yrs ago for $189.00 and have harvested 9 deer so far with it.
big bucky
you will want to buy a muzzle loader they are great guns and they don't have alot of recoil
Mlong84
Cant talk you out of it but I can help talk you in to it. I own T/C Omega havent got to hunt with it yet but it shoots like a dream. Its pretty accurate easy to load and simple to operate. Clean up is a breeze. Oh and most important with all muzzleloaders they launch a fairly big bullet at moderate velocities with little felt recoil (or at least with the omegas)which spell trouble for what ever is being shot
Lilhunter0308
there is also the cva electra it is electirc firing so no primers but i dont know about hunting in the rain with it they say it is housed in a waterproof compartment in the butt of the stock but i have realized this with cars (dont know if it applies to muzzeloaders) is the less electronics the less problems...go with your budget and dont buy brand name for the name buy something that fits you and is comfortable

my first was the mk85, shot alot of deer with it. recently bought a cva firebolt, and that old knight still shoots circles around it. only takes three words to hook you on muzzle loading.
EXTENDED DEER SEASON.

i got a triumph last year and have to say it is the next best thing to the prohunter with all the same inovations but you cant switch the barrels like the pro hunter. a bit pricey but u get what u pay for a dead on acurate gun up to 200 yards it out shoots my rem 7600 any day of the week. go t/c

you guys didn't do a very good job of talking me out of it. Friday I ended up getting a Triumph. very nice peice........... got the stainless and realtree stock. and the wife even knows about this one;)

All brands of muzzleloaders listed are good choices but my vote goes for T/C pro hunter; mine is the nickel plated one with the black composite stock; I have made some unbelieveable shots with mine and now would rather hunt with it than any gun I own; i hope to hunt 20 different states with my muzzleloader before the good Lord calls me home; good choice and enjoy it to the max... smile.gif

The triumph is a really nice smokepole. Something is really wrong with the 7600 you mention. Either the barrel is shot out, or some other problem, maybe a bad scope. I get sub moa 100 yd accuracy with my Rem 7600 30-06 on a good day of bench shooting. For the record, this is with premium ammo.
