Hey guys,
JR and I are thinking of trying our hand at fall turkey this year after last night. We had 4 gobblers at 7 yards while deer hunting in our buddy stand. My question is it doesn't say in the laws one way or the other if it is legal to hunt from a stand or if you have to be on the ground. Does anyone have any insight on this? I know you cannot shoot them on the roost - all 4 flew up an hour and a half before sunset with the closest one being 30 yards behind the stand. WE stood there motionless until the cover of complete darkness to get down and didn't spook him or the others (there were hens as well but we didnt' get a look at them just the long beards). I want to follow the law and do not unwittingly want to do something that could cost us fines or the loss of our license so I was hoping someone here might be able to tell me better, I didn't see anything online the last time I looked but will go there as well. Sometimes these laws are so confusing, it takes a rocket scientist to figure them out laugh.gif
Thanks in advance for the help! Good luck to all hunting this fall and stay safe!

Yep you can shoot them while you are in a tree stand. The only thing that you may want to check is if you county has a fall turkey season. I know that fairfield doesnt, but hocking does, thats the only other thing that i would check.

Thanks guys. I wanted to make sure because it didn't say you could or couldn't in the laws. We have a fall turkey season in the counties we hunt so we are good there. I just didn't want to do it the wrong way. Come Thursday JR and I will have our tags and if those long beards show back up - bam! (OK I'm sure it won't be that easy but I'm gonna give it my best shot!)
