Here is a pic from my DIY hunt in Idaho. I arrowed this bull at 30 yards and had the pleasure of packing him 5 miles back to camp! Well worth the effort for my first bull. It would appear I could use a few pointers on turning the rack for photos, but maybe next time I will get it right! He came in thundering and screaming to a few soft cow calls. No expert calling here, but it worked like a charm. See,... even an idiot from Iowa can kill an elk, you just need a lot of luck, and a little patience!

You got that one right, I have been out three times already and each time I see a deer I ask myself what am I doing shooting these things. They simply do not compare! I did end up with a nice 150" 9pt at ten yards last night, but it is a little early to settle on one like that!......Yeah, I'm ruined smile.gif Gonna be hard pressed to find anything with that much bone here at home. But, call me insane, I must TRY.

Thanks to all for your replies, I have put a ton of effort into making that hunt possible and to bring home bone like that was beyond any expectation for sure. I feel Truly Blessed for having an encounter with that bull, let alone harvesting him. Dream come true for sure!

Now, anyone got good advice on a good caribou hunt,.....I'm feelin LUCKY!
