There is a bow on ebay that i have been bidding on, its a switchback xt or xl, i cant remember. Does anyone have one or know about this bow, what are they like as far as smooth drawing and that sort of thing? Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

That would be a Switchback XT. I owned one and really liked it. It is smooth on the draw and it a shorter ATA bow, so good for the blind and tree stand. I would recommend you use a release with it because of the ATA measurement.

The XT is a real good bow. It has a nice smooth draw, good back wall, and it packs a punch. It is my favorite mathews bow to date. I agree with the release. I also recommend that you use a sting loop or some from a d loop.

actually i have the XT and LOVE it couldn't ask for a smoother drawing bow...it is comfortable in your hand and as bowhunt 24/7 said packs a punch....mine is set to a max of 64 lbs and buries my arrow about six inches farther than my dads PSE Vengence that is set at 60 only 4 lbs lower....the only thing is to change draw length you have to take it in and get a whole new cam put on it....if you have any further questions send a personal message....oh yeah i advise a loop and release i am shooting 3 inch groups at 40 yards

The switchback xt is great. I loved my switchback and the xt was just as good. The only bad thing I can think of about ebay is that the warranty will not be transferred. For that reason, it is very important that you make doubly sure that the limbs and riser are in good shape (no cracks) because the warranty won't transfer. That is a mathews thing though, not ebay.

overall a really good bow. i liked how quiet it was. as i said before, the one i was shooting had a bad film dip job. it wasn't washed out, just stretched out. the speed was fine for me. it shot smooth and as accurate as most any bow i ever had, but nothing superior. my main dislike was how top heavy it was. and the draw length adjustment, or should i say the lack of it. some people love the mathews handle, while others hate it. it really didn't impress me, but didn't annoy me either, it was just a handle. there line in the handle to help with tuning is helpful, imo.
the draw was fairly smooth. not the smoothest i have ever drawn, but plenty good enough.the letoff was very "right now" feeling. the valley was acceptable.

i could have shot an xt the rest of my life, and been fine with it. if you get it at a good price, you'll prolly be happy. that is unless of course you SCREW UP YOUR SHOULDER AGAIN!!!

think hard man....

unknown is right it is a little top heavy would not recommend a quiver on it when you shoot idk but i have heard that you can get different handles to fit any size hand which would be real helpful

How would you go about making sure the limbs and riser are ok when you buy from ebay?
I didnt even see a phone # i could call and talk to the owner. The discription says the bow has just mainly been shot during the summer and not hunted with much.
Right now, i have the last bid at 410.00, its up till the 10th of the month.
Like i said earlier, its a 27in. draw, which is my exact draw, and the weight is 60#, i would rather it had been a 50#, but i figure i can turn it down at least two full turns and it should perform fairly well.
I sure do like the looks of that bow, your right Unknown, i have really thought long and hard, i have decided to go ahead and get a used bow as cheap as i can and just slowly get into trying to shoot again. Im definately going to take it slow and easy, the minite i feel im getting in trouble, ill quit. I just cant stand it without giving it one last try.
Thanks guys for all the good info.

If you can contact the owner, ask them to take close up pictures of the limbs. You need to look where the limb divides for the cam and at the axle hole. That is where I have seen most of the cracks in limbs over the years. Occasionally, you will see cracks at the limb bolt or around the limb pocket, but, I doubt it on this particular bow. The XT has very nice limb pockets. wink.gif If there are cracks they will more than likely be around the cam and idler wheel or the axles.

If you can't contact the seller then its just a chance you have to take. It's probably ok but I would check if there was anyway possible.

Good luck!
