Puchased the 12ga. slug barrel for my TC Prohunter recently. And was wondering if anyone has tested different type sobots loads in this gun? Trying to narrow it down with out buying every brand. I have my own preferences but would like to here from others.

nailed a doe tonight with a 12ga accutip and hit left a hole the size of your fist or bigger and they are 1900fps and shoot great and talk about KNOCK DOWN POWER she dropped in her tracks and i hit her in the center of the shoulder at 30yards

I know TC has a good slug barrel. With a rate of 1-28 rate of twist It should shoot speedier sabots well. But every slug gun shoots different. If I were in your position I would try these. Accutip sabots, Winchester Dual Bond, Winchester Plantinum tip, and Corelokt ultras. If none of these work i would go with slower sabot slugs like lightfields, Copper solids and hastings slugs. I know its expensive but you got to try them all to get the maximum performance out of a slug gun. The new remington accutips and dual bonds are actually getting hefty reviews by alot of shooters. So those would be my top 2 picks. I think companys like remington and winchester are starting to realize speed isnt everything and are starting to make some quality sabot slugs. I think they are both around 1850 fps. Good luck.

Well after extensive testing the Accutip 2 3/4"
Sabot slug is the one. Sighted in at 50yds with
1/2" groups, at 100yds 1" groups and 1" drop.
I'm calling it good. I feel confident this is a good combination. Little recoil with flextech stock as well. And the Nikon slug hunter BDC scope is right on the money. Thanks again for the advice.

Hornady SST 2 3/4 inch...they are unreal...pricey, but accurate well beyond my shooting expertise with a slug cannon!

While it's no TC I have a H&R ultra 12 gauge that I play around with and last week tried some of the Hornady SST in it. From a bench at 100 yds. I was shooting true cloverleafs. This wasn't a fluke because I did it 3 times in a row. Their a little cheaper than the fed. premiums . The Fed.Premiums shot 1.5 and 2" groups too which I think is outstanding for a shotgun.
