I like the Case brand knives myself. I use their Sod Buster Jr model for everything from daily use to cleaning/skinning deer.

i carry a kershaw ken onion model. i also like most bucks. the 110 was my knife of choice for many years. i like the cases i have, and have had. the old japanese made frost cutlery knives from the 80s were good knives. carbon steel oldtimers were good knives, and very easy to sharpen. gerber has some good knives (and some crap hand saws). i have sharpened a benchmade. it was a great knife, but there is no way i would ever buy one at the prices they charge for most of them. same with cold steel. ok, let me back up. if i win the lottery tonight, i may go get one of the cold steel tantos, but barring that, kershaw and buck will have to do.

I got a couple German Eye's that i been using for many years and they have served me well. I just bought the new Swing Blade made by Outdoor Edge and i think im going to like it a lot. I got a ton of knives that i have collected over 40 years and i would have to say the sorriest knife i ever bought was made by Kershaw, i bought it new off the truck from the guy that sell's Snapp-On Tool's. It will not sharpen, i have tried everything, i payed 80.00 for it and i have threated to tape a quarter to it and toss it just to say i threw something away.

Its supposed to have a lifetime warranty and i tried to get him to take it back but he wouldnt do it, so i did get the oppertunity of telling him what he could do with the rest of his knives. I dont think he liked that too much, he just had a puzzled look on his face.

I must have just got a bad one i guess, everyone that i know that has a Kershaw says they like theirs. This one has a gut hook on it and its a folding lock blade with rubber handles.
I even let my hunting buddy try and sharpen it and he couldnt do any good, i never seen a knife he couldnt get sharp til this one.

I've used a Buck Duke which is a 3 inch folding drop point for a few years...The problem is that they no longer make this model and Buck has also started making knives in China...
I had a 3 inch clip point that was made by Anza, great knife...Someone decided to steal it off my 4-wheeler last year so I bought two new knives this year...
One is a Schrade PH-1 Hunter, it's a sheath knife with a 3 inch drop point...I found this one on the net, one of the last Made in the USA Schrades...
Now, the good news...Schrade used to make a knife called the Sharp Finger...This is one of the best knives ever made for skinning...There is a company out of Alabama called Bear that makes a knife like the old Sharp Finger...I bought one at an ACE Hardware store back in July and the steel seems perfect...They call it an Upswept Skinner and also have a couple of different drop points for those that prefer that blade design...
For those that prefer American made products you might want to look at Bear...

I've carried a kershaw leek for over seven years. I love it. I lost a handle screw and called them up. Two days later I got six of em in the mail. A couple months later, I noticed it was slowing down so I called them for a new torsion bar. I got two in the mail a few days later. That's my evryday knife. For hunting, I carry an outdoor edge swing blade. It has great steel, and once you get the hang of how it works, field dressing is a breeze!
