Full Version: Tubing Silencer?

My bow has a silicone tube for aligning the peep. When the darn thing broke…again, I removed it. Without the tubing, the string vibrates and hums much more than when it was attached. Kind of spooky! I already have Simms string leaches. The point of impact also is higher than normal.

I’m thinking I will reattach the peep tubing to regain the quietness and install a second piece from the lower buss cable to the string in the same relative position to the upper piece.

It would seem that silly tubing acts as a silencer (I finally got the string trained and the peep is always in alignment) of sorts so I’m thinking “If some is good and more is better, too much must be just right”.

What thinkest thou, o wisest of twanging wise?

Well the reason that your point of impact is higher, is because you have gained speed due to less weight on the string, so I would not recomend putting a second one on it because that will just serve to slow your bow down even more.

I am kinda with Juggernaut all that tubbing will do is slow your string down and you will lose velocity. you might want to consider taking a little peice and put on you string right under your string leches won't add as much wieght and still should hush your bow up.

Shoot..... I say go for it and try it out... if it sucks then take it off. Simple
