I like the looks of our team. I am betting that some major horn is going to hit the ground with this group. It looks like we have a bunch of Colorado hunters on this team. I personally will be hunting in both Colorado and Arizona this year. My Arizona hunt is the last week of September (muzzleloader) and my CO hunt is the second week of October (rifle) and both are bull tags. It looks like we have a bunch of bowhunters on this team too based on when your season are. We should be putting up some scores early in this contest. I am terrible at making up names but the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is Horn Hookers. Hopefully someone can come up with something better than that.

I've got 29 days till I'm headed to Montana with out team leader(montanaelkslayer) to kill some big bulls. I'm hoping the third years the charm for me

I had some close calls but no shots. This year is going to be different!!! How about bone crushers or high tines? I doesn't matter to me what our name is as long as we win

Ha-ha Good luck to all.

Hey elk hunters,
My wife pulled the names out of a hat this year and this is the super team she drew. I looked at the list and almost thought we were cheating because of the names on here. Anyway thats how the drawlings goes I guess, I hope we all have fun and a safe season. Lets get some big bulls all.
Craig,
Cant wait to see you guys in less than a month now! Its time once again to roam the hills in search of the big one.

So what is everybody doing for the season? csrbowhunter (craig) and I are meeting in our honey hole on the 12th of Sept and we will be staying until the 25th of Sept. Should be more than enough time to drop a few bulls. I really love hunting these long trips instead of being weekend warriors. Seems to me by the time you figure things out its time to leave if you only have the weekend to hunt elk. I know everybody isnt lucky enough to take that much time off of work just to hunt elk so I am blessed in that regards.
Anyway our camp will consist of three guys. All hunting the Montana landscape for two weeks tucked inside of a Davis canvas wall tent 14x16 feet. We will also have a "bathroom" area provided by an EZ up canopy with the walls, inside there will be a Cabelas shower shelter with a Zodi hot water shower system (very nice) and a toilet. I will also have a Shelter logic 10x20 set up to hold extra gear coolers and my Cabelas Camp Kitchen. We will dine and sleep inside the tent with a ton of room. This is going to be a first rate camp. In case we feel the need to camp amongst the elk we have that option covered as well.
If I dont score in the archery season I will have the same setup in November, that trip is scheduled to be one week long. Let the bodies hit the floor

I can't wait it's almost here, the only bad thing is it will be here and gone before I can blink and then it's another year wait

Just ckecking in. I will be hunting a bull with my bow again this year and I have a back up rifle cow tag. I hunt on work property so I am lucky for that. My season starts in two weeks. I have 20 days off for archery season and have a few blinds on wallows already. This looks like a great team any name will do and I agree we need a banner. I do not know how to make them. Oh names Jim, Nice to meet yall

David here just checking in. Can't wait to get out and try to arrow something. Prolly gona make it out on the opening weekend just for something to do. I cannot wait. Me again,
I see that I forgot to mention a couple of things. Found out that the property we hunted on last year might not be available due to it being for sale.

So not sure where I'm gonna be at this year. Time to check the maps.Heck of a time to find out this close to opener. Might try southewestern MT where I've rifle hunted before.

Craig you are correct. I thought it would show when somebody voted, you have to hit show results to see it, my bad. Anyway we have had six people vote so far and that leaves five others to vote. We will close voting at midnight on the 20th and on the 21st I will let FF know our team name so he can get us a banner done up. So if you last five want to vote do it before midnight on the 20th.
Also I cant see who voted for what so its kind of secretive, so no need to worrie about that, kind of neat.

I put in the time off request and cannot wait. Can't get serious until second weekend. Only gonna take four days and do some networking to try to get access to some more land. The place I hunted last year didn't sell as I was told WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!! Was told that the elk were in the guys garden and tore up his wifes lavender pretty good she is not happy in the least. Also found out that a white-tail with a drop tine on the left has been frequenting the same area, I know it's an elk contest but it's a drop tine. Marabell is stowed on the pack.(Marabell is my Montana Decoy) The broadheads are sharp, the sights are good. Cow call could use some work and so could the bugle, but only time will tell. I cannot wait, I cannot wait, I cannot wait.!!!!!

this weekend i have to go hay for my g ma and pa so i wont get to do opening weekend on my home turf. i might be able to go check out a few spots i know down there if i get the time then when i get home monday or so ill see what my hunting group is up to and maybe do a couple afternoon hunts if not ill be off to the hills behind my house in serch of the herd. then labor day weekend i am camping at the dunes with my fam so no hunting there so then school will start up so maybe an afternoon hunt here and there until the weekend arives then back to the normal swing of things untill the 27th of september when season ends
