Guys less than two weeks for me...our team is looking the least pumped! Where is everyone and when do you start! Good luck and lets kick some tail!

The season opens here Sept. 9th. I might get a couple days around the 13th, but then I head off to work on the 20th. Most dissapointing, because the 21st is the peak of the rut here.

I should be back for October 5th, and have 10 days booked then. Rifle opens the 16th. It's crown land, so the wekend warriors usually are slinging lead all over the place. I try to stay away from that point on.

I've been hearing lots of reports that the boys are bugling up here already- both farm and wild elk.

I will be out to re- battery the trail cam later this week ,and hopefully will have some good scouting in that day. The last 2 trips out there, we saw 100-120 elk. Only a couple of cows on the camera though. One pic is a neat one of a cow elk chasing a herd of mule deer off the salt lick.

Got the Montecs tuned up the other day. 4" groups at 60 yards. Cutting fletching at 40 yards.
Not bad for 362 days since I last shot it.

Pumped.........you can believe it.

I start in less than a week! I'm having a heck of a time getting my broadheads tuned up though. I'm getting good groups at 30 yards but at 40 one arrow will go low and to the left, and the other right over the block.
I'm frustrated now, so I'll take it back up tomorrow. :-)
Season starts on Saturday!!

I'm pumped and ready to go! Season starts on the 5th. May get a chance to go opening weekend, but my main trip starts on the 11th. I'll have 11 day's if needed.

Going to try and scout the area one more time next weekend. This is my year for a big one. But i'll shoot what even when it comes down to it..

There are broadheads out there that are easier to to tune! I shoot the Sonic heads. My bow shoots at 293 fps with a 450 gr arrow. Make sure it is tuned, if that is the case take out the one flyer! Hope that helps and good luck! Knock 'em dead!

I agree with 187. Mark the wonky arrow, and if it is the same one every time, take it out of the rotation. It's probably a poorly balanced broadhead.

Montec G5's and Slick Tricks are the two fixed blades that I have heard need nearly zero tuning. I shoot the G5's, and I can verify that.

You only need one arrow anyways right?

I'm going to play with it today. I'm shooting 100 grain muzzy 4 blades. With 31" Easton axis 340's at 70lbs

MAN I CANT TAKE IT!! I am praying HARD that my wife tags her deer this weekend! Her first archery hunt. That way I can start my hunting. The good thing is, she told me Sat. night that she is not going to be picky on what she shoots. Doe, forky, monster, it didnt matter to her, as long as she gets her first archery deer under her belt... WOOSSH! The pressure is off!!!
