Ok here's my delimma. I'm going on vacation next weekend to Myrtle beach, and I plan on doing a little shopping at bass pro. I haven't bought anything big for myself in well over a year now and have been saving a little money, so I'm starting to get that itch. Here's the list, and btw I can only pick one.
1. New reconyx trail cam
2. Glock 40 (Since I don't own a handgun).
3. Bushmaster
4. Hoyt alphamax

i always pick the firearm, it's like an investment. resale on a bow or trailcam is almost nothing. a quality handgun or rifle well maintained is like money in the bank. if you don't own a handgun i'd go with the glock(and i'm not even a huge glock fan.) if you're looking for an ar platform i'd save a little more and go up a notch instead of the bushmaster.

Thanks. I've also been checking out Panther's line up. What do you think about them?

The Glock .40 would be my first pick. Everyone needs a good pistol in their collection. But the bow would be a close second.
I just got back from Bass Pro Shops in Myrtle Beach. Good luck finding pistol ammo in that place. We got there as soon as they opened and people were already swarming around the poor guy trying to stock the ammo shelf. Their bow selection was pretty good I dont remember if they had any Hoyt bows. I was looking for a Bear Truth 2.

I would get the bow basically because I love hunting.

I'd get the trail cam just because I've been wanting one for some time now.

buy a glock...it'll last your lifetime...
OR
buy the reconyx and keep the shotgun by the bed (I have a reconyx and it's sweet!)

I think I would get the Glock, it's extremely reliable and almost half the money of the Alphamax or Bushmaster. If you need a bow the AM is a good choice from what I hear. If you are set on an AR, you can get a Rock River for the same price, and in my personal opinion they are better quality. Not knocking the Bushmaster at all, just my opinion. If you're talking about the DPMS Panther then I would definitely take the bushmaster over it. But you could always save for the Sabre of even the Sig 556. I think the Reconyx would be last on my list.

It depends on if you already have a bow and if that bow is good quality. If you already have a nice bow then I would get the glock, but if you dont have a bow, or the one you have isn't that great then go with the Hoyt Alphamax. It is a great bow and well worth the money.

Thanks guys. Right now I have a Matthews LX, but was playing with the idea of getting a new bow. I'm pretty much torn between the trail cam and the glock.

Buy a used Glock at a gun show or from an individual and spend the leftover on the trail cam. If you buy the .40 at BassPro, Obama will know you have it. Buy used and leave no paper trail.

Since you have a decent bow, I would go for the trail cam to find something to shoot with the bow

I'm not a big fan of gloch pistols, the Springfield XD series in my book is a better pistol for less money. I'm also looking at getting a Smith and Wesson M&P 40 or 45 as well. Plus with an AR I have the Smith & Wesson 15T that I carry on our S.W.A.T. team and love the gun. So I would go Smith & Wesson M&P all the way.

Instead of the Glock which are good guns. I would go with a Sig Sauer, or the Smith & Wesson M&P series. Nothin wrong with the Glocks but i like the others better. With the way our nation is going I would buy all the weapons you can lay your hands on.

The Smith & Wesson M&P .40 is a great gun I bought one as soon as they come out traded it later for a rifle. Started missing the thing so I went out and bought another last year. not as good of a shooter as the glock but still a really good gun.

Are you hot tempered? If so get a trail cam. If not a nice pistol if you feel insecure.
I have 6 trail cams and no pistol. The Reconyx is a GREAT trail cam. I have 4. Wonderful tools to inventory the herd.

Went to basspro today and ended up getting the reconyx. I told my girlfriend that I'm ready to leave the beach so I can strap it to the tree, but she said no! I guess I'll have to wait until Sunday

Get the Glock if you don't have a handgun. Trail cams aren't as big of an investment as a firearm.
