Getiing married in a 10 weeks and for my bachelor party I am going to go hog hunting for the first time. I have wanted to do this for a while now but need some help. Its a bow hunt and I traditionally shoot fixed blade muzzies. I was told that those werent ideal for hogs but I dont see why not. So if anyone has done this before and can recomend a good broadhead for the job please let me know. Thanks

I dont know who told you that but the fixed blade muzzies will be fine how many lbs are you pulling on your recurve or long bow. If you have enough KE then the those broadheads will do the trick
You wanna make sure you dont hit that shoulder blade its like armor no matter what broadhead your shooting

any broadhead that will kill a deer will kill a hog... hogs aren't as tough as people make them out to be... they do have a tough front sholder, so wait for them to take a step forward or give you a quartering away shot... personally, I prefer an expandable with the biggest cut I can find for a hog... ever heard the expression "bled like a stuck pig" ? there's a reason for that expression...

The muzzies will be fine as long as your bow is atleast 50lb you should be fine. Also aim lower then you would think low and tight to the shoulder but watch that shoulder there tuff.

I completely agree with, "I hunt 365"... I have shot several hogs growing up in Oklahoma while deer hunting, and I have not one time had an issue with my 100 gr. Muzzy's going through a deer or hog. I use Muzzy's exclusively, I believe, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Good luck on the hog hunt, and may God bless you and your marriage!

Any broadhead that is good for deer will work with hogs. Down here in south florida I have used a variety of broadheads from muzzy's to vortex expandables. I have even used some cheap walmart brands and they all work. The trick is shot placement. I like to shoot them about 6 inches back from the shoulder, so as to miss the sheild. Good luck.

Hog hunting is a blast. Shot placement on a big hog is very important. I prefer a broadside shot with a cut on contact broadhead. The hog heart is tight to the shoulder so aim low and close.
There are shot placement videos for hog on the net. Just google them. The best eat size hogs range from about 50lbs to 200lbs.
Good luck and have fun

Well I have a hunt scheduled to go down to Oklahoma with a group of people in september for my first hog hunt and I'm pumped for it too. My best friend shot his first hog a couple years ago and used a Rage broadhead and had absolutely no problem getting the little 350lb fella to the ground. I don't really know much but I do know that I will be using the Rage broadhead because that hog is one impressive beast. Good luck!
