I think I'll try it again this weekend, So do any of you PRO'S have any good ideas on getting them to come in? I have 2 decoys and the Primos power crow. I figure putting the decoys out and hiding in the bushes smile.gif but last time I did that they didn't come.

Question: should I let the scout crow that fly's over go or should I shoot him?
I'm not sure if he'll tell his buddy's to come over or not.

Joe, there is much conrtoversy as whether to shoot the scout crow or not. We used to not do that. but now we do. Because if he sees something he doesn't like, or what have you, he will fly away and none of them will come. I suggest getting a CASS CREEK ecaller as well. Call while that is calling. mix it up. sound stupid on your call, no joke. When we shoot the scout crow, we cawww right after that to sound like PO'd crows. Try and intercept crows as well. I don't know how much property you are hunting, but we hunt 2 different 160 acre parsals. if you know there are two or more groups on the property. get in between them, or cut them off. watch where they fly to. hopefully these tips help! good luck! shoot strait!

Try an electric call, we use a crow and hawk fight. The will pile in when it is playing. Shoot every crow that flies over.

Ok thanks guy's!

I am hunting a field next to some woods. The Crows destroyed a lot of drip tape and I thought it would be fun to try to thin there population out a little rolleyes.gif

Archer,

I have a FOXPRO III Electronic call. And it will call crows in when I have not seen or heard any. All I do is fire up the Fox Pro and turn on the dieing crow and they will come! Kid of like the movie build it and they will come. It is in my case that they can't resist the incident. I can also do this by sitting on my porch in Tennessee. There is a lot of woods around my home.

Crow hunting didn't go so well. I used my power crow and called a few in but they where a little out of range so I didn't shoot. They where a little high for a modified choke too.

I guess I'll look at getting a ecaller sometime then.

I know a couple of guys that crow hunt a ton, and they treat it like they are duck hunting, I bet he has about 40 decoys a mojo crow, and a bunch of diff calls. He rides around and finds a feild that crows are using than sets up on them and kills them.

I like to sit at the base of a tree, use my crow call, or rabbit distress. I only hunt them when I know they are in the area, and I almost always get them to come in.

just sit as still as a rock, and choose your shots wisely.

i agree with bowhunter boy i always see cro's before anything else when i blast the screaming fuzzy call "rabbit in distress" . if my patience wears out before i see a yote or fox theres usually on less crow, or possum,or coon,or etc.
