Can they survive if quail you release to hunt and you dont get them all? I don't do this but a friend of mine bought some to relase and hunt to work his dog and he asked me so I told him I would post it to see if someone with experience with this could help.

I don't know how long they will survive but we released some to hunt and work the dog didnt get all of them and came back the next weekend and got the rest!

It all matters about the conditions. If it is 10 degrees and icing then probably not. If it is 40 degrees and sunny then they probably will.

A guy I meet in OK. called it a Call Back Box, just a screen box with a one way door on it. He would leave it out in the field with a quail in it, Mr. quail would get lonely start talking and the others would come get in the box with him. He made it sound believable, don't know if it really works or not. My have just been a crazy old man taking his quail for a walk.
