First 4 pages of this forum 7 wounded deer. Why? I commend you for owning up. I wonder how many go unreported?

Wounded deer is part of deer hunting. I wounded my very first deer in 7 years of deer hunting this season on opening morning of archery season, thankfully it lived.
All we can do is practice, know our equipment and limits and hope it doesn't happen again.

Yeah, I noticed it too. I have heard several stories outside this forum as well about guys losing deer. I know I lost one last weekend and it made me feel like a giant sack of crap. I'm gona keep hunting the last couple weeks, but unless i get a deer right under my stand I aint takin too many chances.

People have to realize things happen. When you shoot at deer they don't alwasy go down , often have to be tracked and some no matter how much you look are never found. I agree we must practice , check our equipment and visualize the shot. Even then thing happen.
We cannot forget why we hunt and the right we have. Before anybody judges anybody else judges other people, they should question why they can make bull comments like . never happened to me, it only takes one shot. They forget that hunting still bring food to people tables who need it, brings family together, makes people realize how important planning and patients is to hunting. All these characteristics can be used in real life situations.
So are ununderstanding people jealouse? Or feel that the person killed their deer? Or do they truelly have a character flaw they should deal with.

How about this,a friend of mine put an arrow in a nice buck from his treestand,he ran out of daylight to track,he called for help from some of the guys hunting near him in our crew, with radios, they decided the blood trail was not that good and to go back in the morning with five more guys,me included,we tracked the buck, all the way to a packing place where someone had dragge it and loaded it into their truck and drove away!Maybe this is the reason you don't find your deer, because others find them first and take them,oh and they dragged it without gutting it cause they didn't want us to find a gut pile!!!SCUMBAGS!!!
