This is the one and only goose I've shot this year but I think it goes boon and crockett...lol. I need the lakes and ponds to freeze up before it gets good on my stretch of the river. But anyway here's my pic. I'm 6'1" so look how this goose sizes up to me. I'm not holdin' it out or tryin' to pull a fast one...lol...just holdin' it like i normally would. Even though the goose hunting hasn't been that hot I've still missed quite a few, and finally connected with one...but anyway here's the pic. It was like carrying out a turkey!

Looks good Speak. Is it hot where you are? It's going to be in the 60's today. Going to break record highs in Montana today. This will not help with the ponds and lakes freezing up here.

Callin, ya it's supposed to be in the 60's AGAIN today here too. I've still had my chances at geese just end up screwin' up. I jump shoot 'em and they're smart birds...hahahahaha. Missed more than a few and have this one to my credit. But it was a monster.
Greene, I have no idea what it weighed. I saw them land about a half mile back on this closed road so I walked in there and by the time i found a spot to cross the river to get it, because of course it floated to the other side, I was about a mile downstreem. I picked it up out of the water and what.....HOLY CRAP. It was like carryin' out a turkey from a mile back....hahahaha. I should've found a way to weight it because there's no chance I'll kill one like that again.

It looked like it would weight about the same as a Jake turkey, It is one of the biggest ones I have ever seen.

Ya it's definitely huge.
andrew, i wish you would've had it compared to your body then i could really tell. So maybe pushin' 15 lbs eh? Still a big bird....hahaha. The truck doesn't get washed very much hahaha. Only in the spring and summer when I go mudding and can't see out of the windows. Otherwise I just get it dirty again within a few days so why even wash it....lol. It definitely doesn't get washed during hunting season, i just let nature take care of it....lol. Keeps it somewhat under control.

Nice one Trent, I killed a Lesser Canadian a few weeks ago with bunch of regulars and the thing was literally smaller than a mallard duck.

I think I saw one last time I was out. It looked the same size as a mallard and had a higher pitched honk ????

Those would be a Cackling Goose. Not a lesser.
Lessers are not a whole lot smaller then westerns, but a cackler is about the size of a big mallard.
