I was fairly impressed and surprised at the same time. Impressed w/ the speed but surprised that they came out w/ a dual cam. If i were to get a new one it would be the reezen 7 but would like to have a little longer bow.

the single cam looks like the diamonds and the duels look like PSE, I will believe the speeds when I shoot one!

I has very impressed. Mathews has always made a quality product. There are always people that will say Mathews this and Mathews that but they don't shoot them so..... The dual cam is under a different series than the Mathews Solo Cam, it is under the McPerson series which was a bow company or bow designer about 20 years ago. The new solo cam bows look great. They have kept pretty much the same style. I was very surprised to see a bow that had less parallel limbs and no roller guard. The bow looks like and updated version of my MQ-1. A lot of Mathews dealers around here in Northern New York claim that the MQ-1 was the best bow to come from Mathews. I'm wondering if they created this bow to get the people that own teh MQ-1 to upgrade. I would like to get out to a bow shop and compare my bow and the Hyperlite and shoot it to see what it is like.

Well....elk187....I have to disagree on your take about the ReeZen looking like a diamond....actually if you look at it in person it looks like a cross of the Drenalin and the XT. And those are two GREAT shooting bows. I am going to shoot a Reezen tonight at the pro shop. I cant wait to see how it shoots. Looks and reads like a great shooting bow when looking at the specs. I'll post a review tomorrow.
I see the X-bow look of the PSE in the two Monster bows however. I bet they have hand shock and wheel hop far more than any other Mathews bow. I myself dont go for a bow with such short brace heights as these two Monster bows have. But the speed freaks will be dripping at the mouth.

SPEED. That is the new 2009 Mathews line. They should be awesome 3D/hunting bows. I have shot Mathews for years and love 'em. One of the best things about speed is you have options, shoot lower poundage, heavier arrows, or combinations of either. I had the same opinion about the shorter brace heights until I shot the LX and Prestige. They do not shoot like other short brace height bows. As far as the Monster's being under a McPherson name. The owner of the companies name is Matt "Mathew" McPherson. I would advise shooting them before buying, but from past experience do not shoot one unless you are prepared to buy or you spend a lot of time wishing you had.

If you look at the specs on the Monster (6" brace height) and Monster xl8 (5" brace height), UP TOO 350 fps and 360 fps. It is an X-force and not much more. If you dropped 1 inch off of the X-force you get that 10 fps. Bows are getting fast, but brace height is more important. Plus, too short. I will still shoot them, but still like the longer Bowtech. I will give them props for a true speed bow though.

As far as the monster bow is concerned its basically an X-force. I personally like the 82nd airborne for a speed bow. I think the new Reezen will sell good for them. I personally dont understand why they come out with the dual cam bow. I think they would have done fine with the single cam 340fps bow IMO.
