Hey guys.....this is my first posting on this website. I wanted to see what everyone think. I just started getting into fletching my own arrows. I just got a Jo-Jan mon fletcher and a bunch of 2" Blazer fletching. I cant wait to try them. I have heard good comments about each product. I have a ton of arrows with only fletching problems, and this will give me more practice arrows. Anyone out there using the same setup? cool.gif

I had a Jo-Jan, till I used one Like the Biltzenburg (I think I spelled it right), I will never go back, but the Jo-Jan is still a great jig, just makes sure you clean the shaft good ,and even though bohing says you don't need to clean the base of the vane also.

I use the 2" fletchings as you do...but when it comes to the jig Bitzenburg is the best. My opinion....

I've been using a JoJan multi for years with no problems.Fletches a great arrow and you can really put a heavy helical on with the JJ--which I like

me and a few buddies of mine use the blazers we all like em as far as self fletching idk. also welcome to the site i hope you like it

if you shot a whisker biscuit, and practice al lot, you will LOVE the blazers. tough as nails.

I tried the Bohning Tower Fletcher last year and it worked really well. It is really nice to be able to do 3-fletches at the same time. I shoot Bohning Blazers and mini-Blazers for just about everything from Indoor spot to hunting. They preform great.

I done it all. but to me the best thing out there now is the shrink fletching. They fly just as true as the arrows i fletched with my fletcher and the fletcing is tougher as well. real easy to use, just a bit more money, but I will use these from now on.

I am sold on the heat shrink also. I have done my own in the past with an Arizona E-Z fletch and had no problems. I did consider an upgrade to a Bitz but after looking at all the cost involved I tried some of the shrink wrap. I was very impressed with them and will most likely continue to use them when needed. Same goes though, make sure the shaft is clean. Just my 2 cents.

The 2" Blazer vanes are GREAT.

Hey all,

I personally use 4 x 4" vanes (offset with helical).

I only use fixed blade (most of the time 2 blade) broadheads.

I love the control and a little bit of forgivness that my arrows give me smile.gif

I use a Bitzenberger straight clamp with the 2 inch Blazer and 2413 Easton Eclipse alloy shafts. Follow the prep instructions per Bohnig including drying the shaft with ONE wipe in ONE direction. If the vane peels off and leaves no residue on the shaft, poor shaft cleaning!

All that is needed is 1 to 2 degrees of offset (no helical required). Excessive twist actually reduces velocity at extended range.

My problems have been in using different manufacturer's cyno-acrilate glues (super glue). Not all are created equally. Loctite 498 (medium viscocity) is great and easier to control than the very thin stuff. Bohnig's Fletchtite works well but tends to be on the heavy side during application.

Tough vanes that work well.
