I've lurked around here for years & finally registered. Thought you elk freaks would like this bull. My buddy drew an LE unit here in Utah. For some reason the elk were harder to find this year, he stuck it out & killed this stud with 2 days left...

That is a stud bull! Utah has had a great last few years. This year was another good one for all the elk states, I know of at least 4 390" plus bull here in Montana, a 420" in Washington, and 5 390" plus in Utah. Have not heard or seen anything super huge out of Arizona or New Mexico this year.

Congrats to your buddy!

Shan Ogden in Richfield grossed him at 395 & change. He should net about 10" less. It's the largest bull I've had my hands on. I actually have video of him 2 years ago.

Soules2007 - I'll pm you the unit.

I heard from a friend that his friend has a friend that knows an LDS missionary that has a friend who know a guy with a helicopter that chased this bull and radioed to the shooter where it was located.

If he was scored down in Richfield, did he come from that area? Like maybe around Salina??? I-70 area? I grew up in Emery County is the only reason I ask....just curious.

He's off the unit south of Loa (you can probably guess where) South of I-70 near Salina, you are thinking of Fishlake right? Quality has gone way down since the cow slaughter. I drew that unit 2 years after the slaughter & on a drought year, killed a 320 bull & only saw one bigger (though significantly). Some guy on MM shot a really nice late season bull down there last week http://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/DCForumID12/10144.html

187elk - the 5th's are just approx 17", 4th's are 22" & 24". Beams are 51"/53". Average spread but a lot of mass.

Yeah, I know that area...I have hunted mule deer there, and there are a few big ones wandering around. Sure hope the population of elk has gone back up! Awesome country around Fishlake.

Not quite sure what you were talking about there, unless you were referring to my previous post about the bull out of the different states, to which I seen 2 myself and pictures of the rest.

Elknutz-
i thought thoughs 4th and 5th looked huge, it probalby got a lot off mass. The main beams on my bull this year were 56" and 57". What were the mass measurements, sorry I love looking at the numbers.
