Well guys, my dream finally came true today! I was blessed with my first harvest! This is the first big game animal I have ever harvested. I have been deer hunting with my bow for the past 4 years, and hiking along with my dad for over 10 years. This season we hunted the most ever. About 10 afternoon hunts, and every morning and evening of every weekend. My dad tagged out in the regular season with a huge 5x6. Come late season (opened today) I harvested my first deer, a small buck! I got into my stand, and my dad sat below me in the thick brush just trying to hide himself as best he could because he was not hunting. Literally about 5-10 min after sitting this boy walks up and I stick him in both lungs, and the liver!
Both of his antlers were broken off. Hes not huge, but hes a trophy to me. I was going to take a doe this year if no bucks came along, so a buck is a plus.
Here he is

Great job man, and you did it with your bow. Hey, they all make the heart thump! Way to go!

Awesome Job! Way to stick with it. Now that you know you can do it with a bow, going back to a gun might not be as easy or fun. First bow kill is always a great rush! They will all be great but none will be like your first. Live it up!

Forgot to mention that his left eye was poked out, and we found a 3 inch clotted cut on his neck. All in all a poked out eye, huge cut, and both antlers broken off. I would say he has been busy fighting.
