The problem is that I cannot figure out what scope to put on my new H & R Ultra Slugger 12 ga. What do you recommend and/or use.

nikon BDC for slug guns... or the leupold vx1 shotgun... either will do fine, arent' too much $$$, will hold up, etc

I use a bushnell trophy hunter 1.75x-4x i love the reticle and its a pretty sweet scope

Can't you use sights? Scopes on slug guns can bight quit hard!

Yes they can but if you use the right scope with the correct eye relief, it will be ok. been using one for years and never had a problem. mine is an old simmons shotgun scope.
