I think since you reload your own ammo it may be a trial and error sort of thing. The 204 is a very fast bullet. Though I don't have that caliber myself I think if you use that caliber with a light weight balistic tip bullet you will have a small entry hole and take away the chance of an exit hole. I don't own a .204 but know those who do. The problem with poly tipped bullets is splashing. A splash is when you hit bone and the bullet blows up on impact. You'll have a softball sized entry wound. That said you'll be fine with frontal chest shots which are common when calling yotes. You'll also be fine on on broadsides just so you don't hit the front leg or shoulder.
I've had splashes with my .223 and 22-250. All were poly tipped bullets and were either spine or shoulder hits. They were NASTY to say the least.
We don't have foxes here so I have no experience with them at all.
