Well i just got back from a mule deer hunt in eastern California with my grandpa. I had a great hunt an me and my grandpa both tagged out. I shot a real monster that was almost 28 inches wide. Then my grandpa tagged out at noon on the last day of the season with a nice fork by spike. We are very happy since this zone is not a very good zone but the Lord defenitly blessed us this year. Thankyou Jesus!

Congrats, especially to your Grandpa...A lot of seniors give up on hunting because they think they are getting "too old"....I think the ole guy still has it....
Great memories that both you and your Grandpa got deer (next time let him shoot the big one....)

did you shoot your buck in its bed? It looks like it, or was it kicking and scrapped all the pine needles, debris, and leaves away.

East side wasn't it? Somewhere off of hwy 44? I'm from Red Bluff originally and grew up hunting blacktails around Chester. That's where the blacktail in my picture came from. Congradulations on a great buck.
Maybe somewhere around Susanville?

The zone was X4 and i shot the deer right after he stood up from his bed and dropped him back into it. I assumed that he was gettin up to relieve himself since he didn't seem to notice me and he was packed full of rocky mountain coffee nuts.
