What types of chokes are everyone using and why?

I have been using a mod, but thinking about trying imp cyl's

It really depends on the situation. I mostly use an Imp. Cly. but if shots are longer I bump up to a Mod.

Hey Green, Whats your opinion of the different brands? Say buying a Reminton brand choke as opposed to an after market? I really think an imp cyl would be better for me. I don't hunt a ton of upland but I do some and I just started running dog trials too.....

i usually shoot a mod. or a full or exfull...depends on what im hunting...for dove the mod works the best for me in my remington 1100...the exfull turns a turkeys head to jello haha...i normally use a full for buck shot...

Improved Cylinder - grouse, woodcock, pheasants - thick cover, close shots, or fast flying birds
Mod - same as improved but if longer shots are needed
Full - i use my full for everything but turkey and sometimes pheasant, i seem to shoot better with it but cant figure out why
Xtra-Full - crushes turkey, short range coyote too, lays the smack down on them

Right now I am shooting standard factory Rem chokes and I really like them, they pattern really well. I have shoot kicks, and carlsons, and briley's before, but out of brownings, they did really well. I dove hunted all the 1st season with an Imp. cly. rem choke and it killedthem dead, I don't see spending the money on something differnt went these work really well, the only advantage I see is have the etended choke to change them easier.

Imp. Cyl for dove
Modified for Quail, Pheasant, etc.
Full for Turkey!

it all depends on preferance I think, I see many guys here talkin about Imp. Cyl.'s and Mod.'s for their game, and I agree with them 100%, I just tend to lean towards the mod. as an all around choke because I learned the attitude of my gun with that choke in it, and I have only as of late began to us other chokes, but I still go to the Mod. if I'm ever in any doubt as to what I should use in any given situation
