My brother has a .17 hmr. It is deadly accurate with a BSA sweet 17 scope on it. My brother shot my 30-06 shell at a 100 yards right through the center when it was standing up. He was shooting birds at 200 yards with it when the wind was just right! I think its an amazing gun to be honest!

I have the marlin 17VS and love it. I did a trigger job on it to lighten it up a little bit. Fun little gun to shoot, and accurate as all get out. If you want to have some fun, fill a pop can with water and take a shot.

dad and I have Savage 17 HMR and love it. They're tack drivers and can do some damage too. Last summer dad was getting wood off the pile and a garter snake was sunning itself on top of the pile. Out came the 17 and the snake got blown in 2 and it sent one half flying about 10 feet.

I have the savage that you are talking about. I was shooting golf balls at 100yards the other day. They are accurate but I dont think its good for anything bigger than a fox.
