Hey guys, i know nobody has hardly even had time to check in yet, but i have a lot of time at work to get on here as often as i like... so I was going to go ahead and try to think up some names for the Team. I was thinking about RACK PACK but i noticed that was a team last year... dont want to do that. My wife was joking with me and gave me a name just being goofy, but i actually kind of like it. Tell me what you guys think. **Team 11 - Chasing Tail**

I will be hunting on the plains of Colorado with my bow and I also have a northwest KS either-species tag with muzzleloader. There are some really nice bucks on the place I hunt in CO and the landowner in KS tells me he has been seeing a bunch of mulies on his place all summer. Both are private land hunts so I have very high hopes. It took me three years to draw the KS tag. As far as a name goes I will have to think on that. No ideas at this time.

I see we have a bunch of young guys on the team (myself excluded) maybe we could be "young guns". I also noticed that I am the only one hunting mulies. Looks like everyone else is after whitetails so I would be okay with Jyawns's suggestion.

Good to hear from ya Hoopscoach..... Everyone else, if you dont care, when you sign in tell us the dates your seasons open and tag limits also. That way we can figure out about when we are going to start winning! Bow season in TN opens sept. 27. We can go for 3 bucks and plenty of does, so i'm hoping to take my fill. cant wait to hear from the rest of you guys.

Team is looking good so far. Hopefully the rest of the team will check in by the weekend. Whatever you all want for the team name is cool with me. Looks like i'll be the earliest opener (sept. 6); I've got a few 150+ deer pinpointed right now. Unfortunately 2 are 9's and one is a massive 8. Scoring system kinda screws the big deer killers over...

Oh well, good luck guys.

Hey team, If any of you know how to make a good team signature I have a pretty good picture for a background that would go with the name "Chasing Tail".... check it out... and if any of you do know how, play around with it and show us what you come up with.

Hey guys, I will be hunting in NC mainly. I am strictly a bowhunter. We will start the second Saturday in September and go through Jan 1. I will be hunting on private land with some nice bucks. We have 6 tags and kill up to 4 bucks. I don't know about young guns (47 here, lol). Still feel like a young gun. Whatever you guys decide for a name is good with me. I am retired from the Army (21 years) and now a school teacher. I coach varsity football and just became the head varsity baseball coach. Should be a fun year in the woods and out of the woods. Good Luck Guys!

Hey fellas, sorry took so long to check in workin all kinds of weird hours. Bow season starts Oct.1 thru Nov. 14. Shotgun season Nov. 15 to Nov.30 and muzzleloader Dec. 6 to Dec. 21. We can only take one buck here in Indiana and a boat load of does, so I will be picky about my buck. Heck I've been "Chasing tail" for years, sounds good to me.

Hey there TurkeyTroy... good to hear from you. Looks like we only have 4 more guys that need to check in. So far looks like we are going to be doing good. I would love to take the Title away from Rack Attackers this year. One thing i noticed when i read through their thread from The Rack Attackers last year is that they really kept in touch very often and let all their team mates know what was going on. I think this is a very good strategy that will keep everyone motivated to KILL SOME BUCKS! So lets all keep in touch pretty regularly. I think we can pull this off.

aite teammates this is what ya need to do for the banner.......Go to your control panel, scroll down until you see edit signature on the left hand side of your screen and click link.
Place this code in side the white box...
<a href="http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i160/scm6147281/teamsign/?action=view¤t=team11.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i160/scm6147281/teamsign/team11.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Then click update signature and you should be good to go

Aug 16 2008, 11:09 PM
you might want to wait on the signature. i PM'd firefighter because Easterntomkiller's name is on there twice so i asked if he would edit it. I like though... how bout you guys? By the way do any of you have any kind of experiance with making mineral licks? I just bought some liquid Deer Cane and salt blocks i'm going to put out on the lease i'm on. Any tips would be appreciated.
Just going to let you guys know, I went ahead and posted our team name as Chasing Tail, so it will soon be official!

Banner looks really good, thanks for putting it together. I have watched a couple of my buddies use mineral licks. They dig a small hole and pour it in. When the rain takes care of it, the deer will dig it out and eat it. I have never seen them kill anything over the lick. Good luck.

We have used mineral licks on our lease also, alot of deer sign around them but we have yet to kill a deer over one. Definetly good supplements for nutrition and antler growth though.

I got trail cam up tonight. How long would you guys recommend keeping it out there. I have 2 or 3 different spots that i would like to alternate.
hunthard
Aug 20 2008, 07:20 PM
Depends on what kinda camera it is. My Bushnell will take 350 pics a night. I'll set mine up and then check it 24 hours later. My camera has a 30 second reset after a pic is taken and I cant change it so if a deer is at my corn for 1-2 hours, it may get its pic take 50-100 times and then memory card fills up QUICK.
JYawn
Aug 20 2008, 09:21 PM
I might have the exact same one as you hunthard. Mine is a bushnell, but mine has a 30 sec. , 1 min., or 2 min. timer. i guess i'll check in a couple days. Guys i'm ready to start stickin some deer. I've got 38 days left.

Yup, put corn right in the back yard along with the trail cam. Thats pretty much how ya scout in Jersey. Look in your back yard and look in the fields while your driving.

Sounds like a great way to scout. Part of our lease is being clear cut this summer so I do not know how it will affect the deer yet. It will be a great place to reach out and touch one though once they are finished.

Hey just got back from Maine for the last week and the first e-mail I checked was from The Cabin to check in so here I am reporting for Duty!!!
Hunting Maine,Conn,Vermont and Southern tier N.Y.all this year, some are bow ,rifle, and muzzleloader!Trying to lock down a nice 220lbs 8 pointer I spotted this week in Maine, the land owners are from New Jersey and my uncle is trying to get me permission to hunt there property,so it may work out!The area I hunt in Maine is called Expanded Archery Zone,I can fill buck tag and buy another and doe tags, keep buying them as long as the tags are available, meaning I can keep getting deer! The season runs from Sept. to Dec.!
