man that thing is a hog! I just went and bought some roosevelt hunting videos, and man im chomping at the bit now to get out and hunt! They are just some low production videos but they are actually pretty darn good to watch, all public land hunts.
Angry Spike Productions, is the name of the group.

SHANE(WA)
Hey team, I am bow hunting from Sept 8-21 and nov 20-dec 8
I am good for whatever name biggrin.gif
deuce347
I'd have to say another +1 for bull busters.
Another cheesy one I just thought of is "bulls r us"
manbugle
I will be hunting in Oregon and will likely be spending more time on the West side of the state this year.
I thought up the name HORN DOGS, but also like BULL BUSTERS too.
COElkslayer125
What's up fellow elk hunters! Hunting in southwestern Colorado from 8/30-9-28. It's been two years since I have bagged on, did have a horrible experience last year with hitting a bull. 3 bulls in the last 8 years with my bow, baseball players would love that average!
I like Horn Dogs or Bull Busters either or. Good luck and lets win!
TRKYHTR
We have 5 votes for Bull Busters and 2 votes for Horn Dogs. If nobody has has any objections I'll contact the moderator and tell him our name will be Bull Busters. I've got 2 weeks before I leave for my 10 day elk hunt. I am stoked.

Is anybody able to make us a Banner? Something like the turkey banner I have on my signature. I'll look and see if I can find some elk pics.

TRKYHTR
What do you guys think of this banner? I tried making it smaller but I wasn't able too. Not savey enough with the puter. I'll see if I can have somebody help me with it.

Hey that's a perfect banner. I have less tha 7 days till season opens. Lastnight I walked up on a herd feeding in a clearcut. I was about 40 yards from two cows and two spike bulls!!! They had no idea I was there till one of them caught a little whiff of me. She barked a coupple of times. But that was it. I just had to stand perfectly still for about 45 min till it was completely dark so I could leave without spooking them.
It really got me pumped. Tomorrow mourning I'm gonna go on a five or six mile hike and scout an area I rifle hunted last year.
COElkslayer125
TRKYHTR you have a link to the banner we can get for that cool thing. Going to buy an archery cow tag to go along with my either ###### tag to see if I can fill the freezer with some meat this year! Last year opening morning had a yearling cow at 15 yards and passed because I didn't want my season over so soon. Best part of the deal is the wife is all for it!
TRKYHTR
I think all you have to do is right click on the picture, click properties, right click URL, select all, right click then copy. Then paste in your signature.

The other one was too big. I had someone help me with it and make it smaller. What do you guys think? Is it too small? Do you like the other one?

Looks great. I have 2 more weeks til my hunt starts can't wait..
TRKYHTR
If you guys will change the link where it is: /t.....BullBusters and make it: /trkyhtr/BullBusters.jpg. It should come up automatically in your signature instead of a www. link.

not sure what happened to the sig pic but it disapeared! Headed out today guys, hopefully this new area I am going to try isn't full of other hunters, have looked at it on the map and it looks good but again not sure on other hunters.
deuce347
Well, yesterday turned up more hunters than elk. I saw four cows and two spikes. I'm hoping for a legal bull(three point or better) but will take a cow if that's what the lord gives me.
TRKYHTR
Good luck to you guys that are already heading out. I leave this Thursday fro East Idaho. Sorry about the signature pic. It was deleted from my photobucket. Don't know how.

I don't get any vacation time till december, but luckily I can literally walk from my back yard into elk country. So I get to hunt after work and weekends.
TRKYHTR
Sorry guys no elk for me this year. It was a hard year. The weather was warm and the elk weren't hot yet. My B-N-L did kill a nice Bull. Here is a pic of his elk.

Well so far no luck. I have had two close calls, and the elk are finally starting to get vocal! Now if the weather would just cool down a little bit and bring some moisture I can get back at it. They have closed down a lot of the area around me due to high fire danger.
So far I have had two bulls and a cow within shooting distance. The first time we were sneaking along the fence line of a field and saw a decent looking branch bull chasing a single cow. I could have got up infront of them and had a shot at him but didn't have permission from the property owner to hunt his land so I didn't. Instead we ran through the timber aff his property line to get ahead of the elk. The bull eluded us, and went down into a draw, while the cow stepped out about 45 yards away. I hadn't had time to range some spots before she came out so I just stayed still and waited for her to get to where she couldn't see me. But once she got there the wind cganged and she spooked. It wasn't till after she had left that I was able to range where she was and my guess was right.
Then last saturday I just decided to walk up above my house(I have 36 acres that borders some logging land). It got to be about seven and I had walked about three miles back. I let out a bugle, and a few cow calls. I got a response real far away, and moved in towords it. I cow called some more but never heard anything, and it was getting late so I started to head back. I gad just got past the place where I was when I heard the first bugle when I heard another. So I started just cow calling as I was walking. About five min later I heard a loud bugle right above me in the reprod. It was too dark by this time to shoot anything so I just kept walkin and calling. He wound up popping out infront of me about 40 yards looked and walked off. It was pretty awesome. But now that area he's in is closed cuz its too dry out! Hopfully this weekend ill be able to seal the deal!
COElkslayer125
Guys I got us points on a 5X6 on sat morning! 8:20 is when I hit him and more than likely about 30 seconds and 80 yards later he piled up! Will get the pictures developed and posted for us. try and get a pic from my phone posted tonight of him

I only had time to hunt the last four days and hit a nice bull on the second morning but couldn't find him. The first time ever for me this has happened and I am still really bummed. I rushed the shot a bit and feel he should be fine looking at all the evidence. I did get a calf yesterday the last 20 minutes of the hunt and it luckily died right on a road. Should be some good eating and at least some points for the team.
deuce347
Congrats!!

Well, the season ended for me not filling my tag this year. I was able to draw on a big cow at ten yards. She needed to take one step for her vitals to be clear. But she winded me and took off. Then the last week of hunting I didn't turn up anything... Maybe next year!
manbugle
Deuce, there is always the late season here in Oregon. Pretty easy to get on some cows then. I can give you some ideas of where to go if you'd like. PM me if you need more info.
