I have always been interested in bowhunting but have never had the opportunity to try it. I would like to know what bows are good, what arrows, or anything that you can think of.

I have a Fred Bear Instinct. And I shoot carbon express terminator weight forward arrows, and i use a drop away rest. I love the set up. Its a fairly light bow and it's very small and compact. But just go to cabalas, sportsman's, or bass pro shop and test out the bows. and get whatever feels comfortable.

Go to your local archery shop and shoot all the different kinds of bows. You will know when you find the right one. Once you get the bow, get a good sight, peep sight, quiver, string and limb silencers, release, and arrow. Carbon arrow are a must. The archery shop should run you thru everything so you get familiar with the bow and how it works.

Buying a bow is like buying a truck. You can do all the research in the world, ask all your friends opinions, but until you get behind the wheel and drive it yourself, you won't know if its the right one for you. Same as a bow. I have a friend who shoots a PSE X-Force, and swears its the best bow in the world. I won't ever touch one again after 2 shots.
It's THAT personal. Where you buy is as important as what you buy. Great service is a must. When you have had your bow for a while, you are not gonna want any Joe Shmoe working on it.
Good luck, but I won't tell you what to buy.
Ahhh.....Ahhhhh....AHhhh "Bowtech" Chooo!!!!!
Oh.........Bless me.

Check out team realtrees movie called Knocked 'n Loaded. They go through the complete set-up of a bow for new archers with some decent hunts and cool bonus features in there.
