All right, so I'm a little behind the curve, but I finally upgraded my arrows to carbon. I got some Carbon express arrows. WOW. What a difference. My groups are so much tighter now. I've been putting it off, since I'm going to be buying a new bow for next year, but a buddy brought up a good point, in that I can still use my new arrows with my new bow when I get it.
I also upgraded my rest to an Octane Hostage. Kind of like the Whisker Biscuit, except with now fletching interference. It's sweet.
Best of all, now I can try out the Rage broadheads that everyone has been raving about.

Good deal some of todays new technology is really great. I love carbon arrows they are so good today with tolerances they are starting to make aluminum obsolete it seems like. Granted they are still lacking in some areas.

I've been experimenting with the Carbon Express Predator 200 arrows in one of my bows and love them. I've only broken one with a direct hit on a rock. No cracked ones yet though I still check them often. They seem pretty tough. The carbon arrows are stiffer and don't oscillate when they fly like aluminum. That's why they are easy to tune and penetrate better. The first deer I shot with a carbon arrow I thought I missed. I let it go and saw it stick in the ground on the other side of the deer. He walked about 50 yards got wobbly and fell over. I used light poundage bows with aluminum arrows and wasn't used to getting passthroughs.

What kind of arrows did you get? I know Carbon Express but what kind. I've been using the Maxima Hunters but want to go with something cheaper. The Terminator lite hunter seems like a good alternative because they're cheaper. I also wonder how much difference the weight forward will make. Because there's the Terminator...just the terminator without weight forward but who knows. I think I'm gonna downgrade a little to the terminators just because of the cost issue. They're still weight forward just like the Maxima's just a little heavier and a little cheaper.

They are CX200. I can't find them on the CE website, though. What do you know about them? I think I paid somewhere around $50 for 6 of them.

They are an older model made by Carbon Express. I used to shoot CX-3d Selects they are the CX just straighter with better weight tolerance and I liked them alright. Just watch the nock ends on them as they have been known to crack. Did you get them at a Gander Mountain or something? I know they charge about that much for a 1/2 doz.

I think I just got too caught up in all the "rage" of the RAGE. They might make a huge hole but I live in the west and take longer shots. I got about 6 or 7 inches of penetration on an antelope and ended up having to track it and make another shot to put it down for good. I'd rather go with a razor sharp fixed blade broadhead that's gonna zip through something. But a lot of guys love the Rage so to each his own...I'll never use 'em again.
