"Best" is subjective........... what bow is he shooting? How many pounds? How heavy an arrow?
I will be have some Undertakers in my quiver this Fall....

I used the Rage 2 last season. The head is DEADLY! Leaves huge holes. But the best part is they fly exactly like my field points. Didn't have to move my pins at all after I put them on.

All three are great, I like the Undertaker and the Teken better than the Rage. They hold up better on bone impacts. I have used all and all leave huge holes and fly great. The G5 is redone for this year, bigger cutting diameter and smaller chisle tip. I think it will be a better head than it was, which was great.

I only have experience with the rage 2 blades...and I've switched to something else since shooting them. They are devastating, but not very sharp at all! I've also seen the aftermath of the "Vortex" expandables and they are unreal...
For me...I'm sticking with fixed...just my cup of tea!

All 3 will kill, he just has to put it in the sweet spot. I'd get the one that is easiest on the wallet and save the spare change for gas.

to tell you the truth im agraid to use mechanicals. i know my fixed will work all the time so that what i use. Crimson Talons are Super sharp and leave big devasting holes. my buck went ten yards and died after shooting it 25 yards broadside downhill. i wont change til they stop making them

I shoot the G5 Tekans for turkeys. I am trying to keep from shooting completely through them, not having a lot of luck with that, maybe less poundage. I have not shot any whitetails with them. I rely on the Montecs and Strikers for that. I have noticed a lack of penetration with some expandables, on larger animals, but every company keeps making them better every year. A lot of the issues people have with them can be in their setup. I also noticed that higher speeds with heavier shafts help with their penetration. Accuracy is one thing, but do not sacrifice penetration. A complete pass through is desired for better blood trails. Expandables are definitely an asset when long range shooting is necessary, like for antelope and tracking is based more on visibility.

I think a lot of people that have not tried them are the ones that believe all of the stories. Some of thoughs are made by people shooting exspandables and taking shots you should not take with any broadhead. I have had complete pass throughs on mule deer and bear shooting exspandables with 1 3/4" cutting diameter. Watch some of the Primos videos, they shoot the Stricknine with a 2" cutting diameter, and get pass throughs on deer.
People had to choose to switch to compiund bows at one time too
I have been shooting exspandables for 8 years now, I have not lost an animal because of the broadhead. I have made bad shots, and will admit it.

I went through this debate with myself last year between the tekan II and rage 2. I chose the rage for 2 reasons.
1. Made in my home state of Wisconsin.
2. Look!

The broadhead hit perpendicular to the ribs, and sliced through both like butter and poked a hole through in front of the opposite shoulder. Not a complete pass through, but the blood road (not trail haha) was easily followed. Because of these broadheads, i now know how much blood is in a deer....A LOT!

i heard that the rage broadheads have to be replaced once you shoot something..i used fixed blades

You really should replace any blade or sharpen a broadhead once its passed through an animal or shot into the ground. Once it has hit something, its no longer razor sharp.

I have to throw my opinion in for Grim Reaper's. I have had really good luck with these and never had to adjust my sights at all. Also have never had a problem with penetration.

Tell him to look at the grimm reapers.I have killed 18 deer in the past two years with them and they are the best I have ever shot.I actually killed a doe on a morning hunt, cleaned the broadhead off and killed another doe that afternoon. Not too many mechanicals can do that.As far as mechanicals not being as good as fixxed on large game,I killed a 235 pound 12 popint last october and he only ran 40 yards and crashed.
