I'm looking at a trophy ridge matrix GS sight .029 3 pin to use on my bow this year. Are these good sights?
GameEarGabe
I just switched from the matrix to the cobra sidewinder this year. The matrix gave me many good years of service, but the fiber optics just aren't bright enough for me. The vertical pin alighnment was great and I actually like that better than horizontal. I just feel that trophy ridge has not made any advancement on the brightness of their sights like some of their competitors have. The only problem I did have with the sight was that the fiber optic broke right behind the pin, and from what I gathered this is pretty common. It is fixable, just not very easy to do.

I'm agreeing with Gabe on this 100%. I had a matrix site for years, as a matter of fact it's still on my back-up bow, but there a lot of briter sites out there. As far as size, I like .029 for my 20 yd and .019 for the rest of them.

I had trophu ridge and I liked everything about it except the brightness. I wet to a Cobra Booslang last year and really like it.

I've use TR since they came out.I started with a flatliner and went to a Matrix on my last bow.I just replaced that bow and am considering a G5 Optics LE.I had good luck with the Trophy Ridge products.

If your comfortable with the sights then thats all that really matters. .019 pins are better for longer shots and if you are planning on taking longer shots then you need to make sure you get a sight that mounts farther out from the bow . I shoot a apex with .019 pins and it has a slide that can be adjusted depending on how far out you want your sights at 50-70 yrds it is great because the pins dont cover the whole target if you have the sight out farther from the bow

I have used the TR sights in the past but like Jeepin Bowhunter said they need to work on the pin brightness...but i do perfer vertical pins over horizontal

I have the trophy ridge 5 ping in .029 and you are going to have to add a LED to that sight because it sucks in low light conditions. Other than that I couldn't be happier with the sight.

Thanks for the input I ordered a trohy ridge flatliner to try out first. If I like it I'll put it on my spare bow and step up to the matrix on my new bow.

Good luck with it - if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

put one on my bow last year............

I actually do not like a sight that is very bright...........late dusk shooting it can distract from the actual aiming point................

I have fallen in love with the Trophy Ridge sight.................

I also like the micro adjustments and ease of setting up.

I did snag and break a fiber optic strand. pulled it up some, stuck it back in the sight pin hole, and heated it with a micro solderinggun to flare the end so it would stay in.

Never had anymore problems.

Try numerous sights on the market before you buy.

I tend to find something I like, then stick with it for many years......... you can waste a lot of money chasing every new item intorduced each year!
