I went yote hunting for awhile this afternoon and even did some shed hunting.. After walking the better part of 3 miles I decided to sit on the end of an old minimum maintenance road overlooking a pasture where id seen dogs before.. I sat and called for awhile, bout 40 minutes and nothing seemed to be coming so I got up to leave and started down the road back to my car, as I walked about 40 yards I looked up and noticed something cross the road in front of me about 250 yards out. I dug out the binos and sure enough a dirty yote crossed right behind another one heading west into the pasture I was spying on a few minutes earlier.. Once they were outa sight, I headed back to where I was and hastily set up my call and I didnt really have time to set up my chair so I just kneeled next to a fence on the road with some trees along the fence.. I called a couple 2 or 3 times and sure enough here come the 2 I had just seen heading south right to my call.. I lost sight of one, but the other kept coming and at about 75 yards, I took a shot at him and much to my schagrin I missed lol.. Well I left the call on and he took off runing and slowed down to look back.. By then I scooted over to a fence post that was basicly a tree that had been chopped down to about 3 feet tall and had a nice flat top.. I thought well I cant get set up good and I'd use the post as a rest.. By then the yote was about 125-150 yards and just kind of half trotting from my righ to my left and even stopped.. But some how I missed again.. He was out that time, he didnt stick around lol.. I couldnt believe I missed.. I must have shot right over his head, cause if I would have hit him he woulda crumppled like aluminum foil.. Its prolly good for him though since I took the vaporizer (30-06) out.. Oh well it was fun as hell

I usually aim center mass.. If I had been set up better I know I woulda got him.. It was my own fault I missed.. I just wasnt comfortable sitting where I was, but I had to make the best out of a bad spot..
