12 haha, no it shouldn't matter. 20 gauge will give you more bb's and powder to throw at them. I use 12 gauge with 8 shot, so i would go with the 20 and 8 shot.

depends on hiw thick the cover is. All the rabbits I've killed so far this winter have died to my .410, but they were no shots over 15 yards.

You guys are cheating with shotguns. Real men use rimfires.

I am kidding with you guys, but as long as I've been hunting bunnies, which has been about 14 years, dad and I have carried rimfire rifles. When I first started hunting we each had a Remingtin 572 pump22, then we switched to 22 Magnums, and when the 17 HMR's came out, dad got one of them and that's what he's carried ever since. I bought a new Marlin 22 Mag stainless witha bull barrel about 2 weeks ago, but haven't got to take the beagle and go for bunnies yet.

i went from my 12 gauge mossberg to a 22 last winter. i have only got one with it in but i love the challenge and the wooly stuff we hunt in its nice to pack a lighter gun. my buddies all us 12s so they always kill a few and there wives don't like eating the nasty things so i always get to take what we harvest to my family and the love them

use the 20 gauge with 7 1/2 with fulls or mod chokes. i use a 870 express 20 gauge mag with 6 to 7 1/2 shot with mod choke over my dogs. the 7 1/2 is better for thicker cover areas and the 6 is for more of the fields areas.

i also use a rimfire .22 for rabbit and squirrel. it makes you concentrate more in my opinion. once in a while i will take the 20 gauge out if i aint feeling like the .22 but i use size 8 too for rabbit and squirell for the 20

If you are using dogs join the .410 coalition. If stalking a scoped rimfire. Either waymakes you a better shot all the way around...

Haven't chased bunnies for years, took a couple with a daisy pump and pellets. we had beagles, Dad used a high standard pistol, good thing we weren't starving! A 10/22 ruger was what I graduated into but a .410 scattergun leaves less for error, and who knows grouse season may stillbe open.

I use a mossberg 500 20 gauge with #6 shot. Works great!!! I just wish it was still bunny season here in OH

All shells and bullets are expensive
Cost about 17 dollars for my 30-06 bullets. I use my single shot 12 guage with 8 shot. 1 shot one kill
I would say probably a .410 though. That or a 20 gauge. I'd probably pick a 20 gauge over a .410

definately go with the 20, #6's for longer shots, if your getting them closer go with 71/2, i like carrying 6's in a 20 and 5's in a 12 incase a pheasant goes up
