I was wondering if any of you shoot a .45 cal muzzleloader or have had any experience with one. I would assume it has less knockdown but is the range better than the .50?

Yes, I do use one. To answer the knockdown power question, I've never really experimented with that. I always go for lungs shots and I always get passthroughs. I only use 100 grains of powder and a 195 Powerbelt sabot and it does fine.
I can tell you there is plenty of punch behind that bullet to drop any deer you shoot at.
