I was looking into getting a new spotting scope, and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the vortex optics. Says there as good as the leica and swarovski, but I have swarovski binocs, and I don't know of anything that is as good except the leica. But, now I have an 8 month old and the wife and I can't see spending over a grand on a spotting scope when we have to buy diapers. Any info would be great.

had a friend buy a cheap pair of bino's from them, this season......for the money i would say they represent good value for the dollar, but do not expect swaro, zeiss, or leica performance from something that is 1/2 the price you get what you pay for in optics.

I love the vipers I have a pair of pentax 8X42 that are nice. but for the same money the vipers are a much better set of glasses, I have also used their spotting scopes and they are amazing. And you can not beat the life time waranty

Not much help since you're looking for a spotter, but the bino's are awesome. I have the 10X42 Razors and they rival the Swaro EL's. I haven't personally looked through the Skyline or Nomad but have heard good things about them. You can't beat the no fault VIP warranty though....
