INKANE
I got a hunting vest for my dog from Cabelas. It is mostly constructed of nylon. It is new and we have only hunted with it twice. It is good for preventing deep barbed wire cuts. But my dog is thin-skinned and fine-haired and the seam on the arm holes chafes her armpits until she is red and oozing. It is sore for her to walk for the next couple of days.

Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any solutions? As strange as it might seem, I have thought about making something like an undershirt for under the vest with a lot more forgiving fabric than the nylon, probably like a t-shirt material. I would imagine that this wouldnt last as long in the field and would have to be replaced a couple times a year.

Molly would appreciate any help.

Inkane,
I had the same problem with my ivory lab, Modify the vest by cutting out the part that is chafing her, and sew it with a serger machine (or add padding where it is rubbing for extra comfort. Not all vest fit the same way. Mine is a Cabelas floater brand and I had to modify it too. Hope this helps, I know how it is to try to keep your BABY as comfy as possible so they have fun too!!!!
Best of luck
