Ive used film cameras for several years(I know..Im still in the dark ages) and im finally ready to spend the money on a good digital game camera or two. Cuddeback pretty much dominates the camera advertisement spots on the outdoor shows I watch but I wanted some honest opinions from real world experience using digitals. Ive seen some digitals on sale for around $100-but I fear ill get what I pay for...Is it worth the money to spend the extra couple hundred bucks? I use cameras about 8 months out of the year so they do get some use. Any comments would be much appreciated. Oh- and post a good digital picture from the camera you use if ya want..

I have a Moultrie and the only draw back is the trigger speed. You have to make sure to set it up down a trail and not across thats when I had my problems. I was getting blank pics but good sign on the trail. maybe deer are so smart they crawl under my camera. I have a friend that uses the Moultrie and he had to do the same thing with his.

I've tried them all and have found the answer right now...For Christmas my wife bought me the Reconyx! WoW! Faster trigger, better sensors, easier to use...I've still got an old Moultrie and it is slow...has to be over something that they're stopping for!
For the reconyx...I have nothing but good things to say...Primos uses them...they are salty but so are the cuddebacks...I had 2 cuddebacks no flash...ended up sending both back for problems with the CF card and moisture in the camera and sold both...

I have heard great things about the reconyx besides the team using them.

they are the silent image made by Reconyx I believe...salty...like $799 or something, but they've been out for 2-3 years and have had no real problems...
I have the 3.1 Reconyx and I've got pics of flying birds, running coyotes, jumping deer...stuff I've never seen before with a trail cam...pretty neat stuff...and has a really good range to detect motion...about 60-70 ft...
also...very very easy to set up..

I have several moultrie cameras, what you said is true about it has to be set up on something that the deer want to stop for, but I've also have gotten pictures of flying birds with it as well.

I'VE TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT BRANDS OF CAMERAS. I HAVE BEEN HEARING GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE Reconyx BUT I DO NOT KNOW FIRST HAND. I HAVE INVESTED IN CUDDEBACK, I NOW OWN 10 AND I WILL CONTINUE TO BUY THEM. YES I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM OR TWO WITH A CAMERA BUT PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ELECTRONIC CAMERA THAT YOU LEAVE OUT IN THE WEATHER WON'T GIVE YOU A PROBLEM EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE.
