I agree with Jim, I think they would work great and see lots of advantages in the gillie suit. But can't bring myself to buy or make one. I think they would be very effective.

I mentioned on another thread that I was thinking about it. I have thought about it for years. I don't think you would be able to beat a ghillie suit. But there is the problem of making one....it could take A LONG TIME sad.gif....

true, and when you finsished you might not be satisfied, i think i'll get a pre-made one, not like i'll be shunned for not making one myself biggrin.gif

as long as i dont track through some prickers it should last a long time, only problem is if it gets wet forget about it, too heavy and burlap tends to get pretty funky, scent away dont fail me now

I've tried a guillie suit and it was amazing! Yes, you look and feel like Chu-baka from Star Wars but who cares. I have a friend who owns the suit. He is not a small man and the suit makes him completely disappear. I watched him from the top of a drain walk for about 50 feet and sit down. When he pulled his face mask down, we couldn't find him even with binocs. I had to try it. The next morning I put the suit on and had a hen walk past me at about 6 feet. She never knew I was there. We also think the suit helps with scent control. It is made of a natural fiber.

I primarily Bowhunt and worry about the strands getting tied up in the string at full draw.

Anyone have experience with a ghillie suit and a bow?
