I'm not sure if any of you guys read the "Shes a natural born hunter" thread (http://cabinchat.primos.com/index.php?showtopic=42048) but I have an update....

I wanted to take her back out into the field again because she loved it the first time but this time I wanted to bring a gun. Like I said before, she is very gun shy. Or I thought she was very gun shy. Turns out she bairly even notices the shotgun when it goes off!

The only animal I got today was a sick groundhog that was hunched over in the middle of the dirt driveway. I thought Dixie was going to freak out when she heard the gun but she just kinda jumped a little it and went back to work. I couldnt believe it! I thru another round into the gun and shot at the ground hog again.....she just looked at me and was wondering what I was shooting at. This is such a big relief! Now I have a dog to go bird hunting with me. Shes a great listener and very good with other dogs (she likes to play alot but cant because of her leg surgeries).
