I am looking at getting a replacement synthetic stock (Bell & Carlson Carbelite) for my savage 110 in .270. From what I can tell from websites, descriptions, etc, the carbellite looks like the best bet for my budget of $200 and under. Do any of you have the carbelite stock? Or would you suggest a different stock in that price range?

Thanks.

It's a good stock but mine required handfitting. I had one on a model 70 win. in 264 win mag and another on a ruger in 25-06 and another on a model 700 rem in 243. A buddy of mine that had no skill with hand tools needed help with his.

I don't have a problem with some minor fitting. Even with minor fitting would you still recommend the carbelite over other stocks under $200? I am NOT even considering an injected nylon stock from Ramline or Buttler Creek.

Thanks.

I've heard that H S presicion makes good stocks. I can't give you a price or anything on one of their stocks, but i'd deffinately check them out. They're suposed to be cheaper than bell and carlson and drop right in with no fitting. That's just what i've heard though.
