Hey everyone I just aquired a piece of land that i am told is prime for phesants, and chuckers. the great thing is that at any time a phesant of chucker could get up while im walking the field with my dog. My question for you guys is what kind of shot should I be taking along? I know that phesant is a lot bigger than a chucker, and I want shot that will have enough take down for a phesant, but at the same time i dont want to blast appart a chucker. could you guys offer your input on what kind of shot i should be using.

Thanks

i would go with a 7 shot. Its plenty for taking down pheasants and it wont tear the chukar up! good luck and i hope you get a bunch!

I prefer 6 shot. JMHO

I shoot 6 in early season. Come late Dec and and Jan I switch to 4. In the late season, I like to have a little more weight behind a pellet to penetrate the built up fat reserves. Earlier in the season, these fat reserves are not as thick and can be broken through much easier.
