Hi everyone,

So I haven't hunted pheasants much except for the few times my grandfather took me. But I fell in love with it. The sad thing is there are not many places left to hunt them in utah that I know of. Most of the pheasant land out here is mainly private property. And most farmers poison the pheasants or they won't give you permission to hunt their property. I'm not sure what to do. I'd really like to hunt them this year. any suggestions?

Does nobody in here hunt pheasants? no suggestions?

I like to hunt pheasants...I have to go to places that you pay to hunt. Try looking up what your state has to offer for pheasant hunting...maybe they also run some pay places like Illinois does.

Hey man, I love Pheasant hunting! I cant wait till opener this weekend! I recommend you find some friends in the midwest...North or South Dakota and Minnesota have some great public land and birds!! haha Sorry about your troubles and I wish you luck in finding a place to bag some birds!

I am a pheasant hunter also... My cuz and I hunt the hell out of em and fill the freezer. One specific patch we hit is right behind his house which usually carries around 20-30 birds. It is a little patch that they usually put their horses in and let them eat, its full of milo,corn and all kinds of other crops surrounded by fireweeds. The horses come out a week before hand and the thing gets loaded. Early season is alright but when the snow flys LOOK OUT!!

I love to pheasant hunt!! I went to S. Dakota last fall and Iowa the 2 years prior to that. I'm not gonna get to go this year, not out of state anyway.

Do what Carol says, do some investigation. You can probably find a place to pay to hunt. Good luck, nothing like a rooster flushing up in front of you!!!!!

I also love pheasant hunting. There are not to many places here in PA to hunt them either. The opener was on Saturday and my dog and I got 2.

Here in PA we do not get to hunt wild birds. The game commission stcks them on State Gamelands.

Also I noticed you said that farmers in your state poison pheasants. Why is this? I think that poisoning pheasants a crime.

Bejo78, if your looking for a great local place to pheasant hunt try powderbourne hunting preserve in pennsburg, pa. It is really great they stock fields for you and it is not to expensive for a half days hunt, its really fun. try finding something like that near you, Gotta get em.

Try going to Google and typing in pheasant hunting. It will bring up all kinds of websites.
I enjoy pheasant hunting also. There are no places to hunt pheasants here in Mississippi either. Good Luck.

Pheasant hunting is fun...we have a few wild ones around...I heard one crow the other night when I was deer hunting.

You might want to go over to the Whitetail forum...Vance posted something over there that you might like to read.
