it is so much fun. I put out about 20-25 decoys (maybe and owl). then I just turn on the elctronic caller I built. If there are any crows around they will at least fly over for a look. I use my benelli 12 ga. with 6 shot.

Crow hunting is a blast, no matter how you do it. The first way, and the most common, is to use an electronic caller. Get all camoflagued, just like turkey hunting, and turn on the caller. It is best if you have several people to cover different directions. Do your best to try and kill the first crow that comes in. I start with the tape of a crow fight. Almost always, you will immediately have a wad of crows show up, within seconds. If you are lucky and paying attention, you will get several of these. Keep the tape running, and they may come back again. If not, quickly switch tapes to crow and owl fighting. Many times, this will make them immediately come back for more. When they stop, quickly switch over to a crow in distress tape, and some of them will come back. If you want to really kick butt, buy a Robo Crow. This works great and really sucks them in. Also, you can throw dead crows up into the air, and approaching crows will see this and come in quicker. After 5 to 10 minutes, you might as well move to another location, and start over. Many times, the crows will gang up 100 yards or more from your location and holler like crazy. If you have several people in your group, bring a small caliber rifle along, and pick off several of these long range suckers. As far as what type shotgun to use, almost any choke and shot size will work. You can also make a blind, just like in duck hunting, in an area where you know crows cross when flying from the roost in the morning, and back in the evening. Put out 10 to 20 crow decoys, and use a mouth call to call to them when you see crows. Be perfectly still, camoed up in the blind, and the crows will almost always come to the decoys. You will kill more crows this way than with an electronic caller, as the crows will not come in in one big group. Good luck
