The guy that does mine uses regular alcohol - alcohol seems to make things stick better.

I would add.... use some soap and water to make sure there is no residue left on the arrow staff. I was told to do this directly from Bohning (Blazer's) if having ttouble get vanes to stick on carbons. The residue can react with the glues already on the vanes or wraps.

I've tried acetone, denatured alcohol before...and I've also used a simple old wet paper towel and had the same results! Both ways they stick...and don't come off

I clean my shafts with running hot water and COMET or AJAX powder cleaner...Yeah the stuff you clean your bathroom with. It's abrasive so it kinda sands the shaft a little while it cleans everything off...Just makes the wraps stick better. Just make sure you get the rinsed off really well and let them dry before you try to wrap & fletch them.
