Present and accounted for........Reporting for duty!!
Welcome folks, to the winning team! It would be nice to know a little bit about each of you.
As my handle suggests, I live & hunt in Kansas! My wife & I have 600 acres that's been under intense whitetail management since 2002 when we purchased it. We have a self imposed 150 inch P&Y minimum for buck harvests, and we usually fill a fist full of doe tags. We bowhunt only on our place. Six years ago I founded a business called Habitat Development Solutions which is a wildlife habitat management company. I'm also a regional distributor for Tecomate Wildlife and the Plotmaster. We been able to transform our farm into a real showcase for deer management. I'll try to post trailcam pics and other little dittys throughout the season.
Can't wait to "meet" y'all.

Hello team,
ruthunter signing in, my name is Craig I'm from Brodhead Wi. I'll be doing all my hunting in the home state. I normally don't get to excited till about mid October so if it seems like i'm not putting my time in early on don't blow me off as a waste. I HATE them little blood sucking bugs and i can't sit when it's hot.

Hello fellas! My name is Taylor Shytle and I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. Not this place isn't exactly the deer hunting mecca of the world. So it's good we get judged on points and not the score of the antlers. Even though I'm not in the best place a lot of will goes a long way! I've been out scouting and here's some pics from the first week I had my camera out.

Hey fellas.....I see we have a team! Time to play!
My name is Travis. I live in and hunt in Central Illinois, and I might do a little hunting in Missouri as well this year.
I can't promise anything really, but I "usually" get lucky enough to get a deer or two.
Garrett.....good to see a very familiar face on this team. And for the folks that I'm not so familiar with, hopefully we will get to know eachother better and have a fun time this season.
I bow hunt and gun hunt, and our bow season starts October 1st.
Good luck guys.

Illinois, Wisconcin, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas..........DANG, sounds like a video producers dream!
I'm heading down to the farm tonight to finish up trimming shooting lanes and marking trails. I might even have momma mow 3 other areas on our place for food plots. My wife is Queen Of The Tractor and rules soveriegn of her domain! I'll be planting about a dozen plots totaling close to 20 acres. Plowing & planting starts Labor day weekend. Once done, we stay away from the farm until Oct 1st (opening day of archery season).
When do your seasons start in your states??
I want to live vicariously though you while I'm waiting for KS to open up!

Let's just get some names out there and then we'll decide.
Also, how about posting some pictures of how we did from seasons past?

Whats up guys. Im Tyler, 21 from Charleston, MO. I am an avid deer hunter. I hunt on family owned, well managed land in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois. I also bow hunt on public land in KY. I am usually successfull in MO and IL, but KY is hit and miss. Its great to be on this team, I think we will have a pretty good shot to win.
I like the name Taxidermist Best Friends. Thats very original.

Alright guys, we've got 8 of our 10 team members that have checked in already.....that is a good sign!

Guys.......let's make sure that we all review the rules for entering deer. I think they made a few changes from the last time we did this.
We need to make sure we get all the pictures that we need. I think we have a really good team, and I would hate for one of our team members to not be able to enter their deer because they didn't know what pictures they needed (seems to happen every year.)
So here is the rules for posting pictures and entering a deer.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTERING A DEER
To submit an entry, a participant must include in the 07-08 CC Forum Deer Contest - ENTRY THREAD thread...
- your screen name
- if applicable, the number of tines that are longer than 1 inch (main beam counts),
- not mandatory but if possible include your team name to help me out.
- a photo of himself/herself with the deer. Photo should show at least the entire front half of the deer or more - this is to avoid any possible accusations concerning people entering mounts. Also this pic has to be OF THE DEER, pics of only the skull plate will not be accepted
- photo(s) that all scorable tines can be seen in. If 1 inch tine is questionable supply a photo with a measurement against the tine for verification.
- a photo of legal tag This is a MUST, no deer will be entered without a pic of the tag.
- FOR PARTICIPANTS IN STATES THAT DO NOT HAVE A TAGGING SYESTEM write the following information down on a piece of paper: your forum name, date deer was taken, state deer was taken in, print and sign your name - scan or take a pic of that info and supply it instead of the tag pic
** If you have issues with scanning or posting your photos, please see this thread:
http://www.primos.com/CabinChat/viewtopic.php?t=26201, or PM any of the mods and we'll be happy to help you out.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late. My name is Brandon and I hunt private farmland here in S.E. Michigan where there is plenty of monsters walking around. Our season opens on Oct. 1st and I usually hunt anywhere from 60 to 80 days a season. This year I took a weeks vacation from Nov 5th thru the 11th to hunt the rut. I mostly bowhunt but I do hunt with the muzzleloader a bit. Last year I took a doe and 8 point with my bow and a 6 point with my smokepole. Looking forward to winning this thing, lets go get em!

My name is Cody Leech from Westgate, Iowa. i bowhunt and shotgun hunt in iowa. I usually get lucky enough to take at least a doe with my bow and then usually have an opportunity at a nice buck sometime durin one of my seasons... i will post pictures of previous kills... I have no preference on the name but i do believe it should be one that could be remembered considering we will be the returning champions next year!

Awesome fellas!! Only need one more to check in and we got a full team!!
It usually takes a 100+ points to be in the running on this thing.
So basically, every member of this team would need to kill a 5 pointer for us to be at 100 points.
The team I was on last year we had two guys that killed pretty nice 8 and 9 point bucks, but did not take the pictures they needed to, so that was 13 and 14 points that we did not get for our team.
If you all need any help posting a picture of yours for the contest, please let me know and I will put it on for you or walk you through how to do it.
Let's get em'!

Thanks for the info T. I plan on posting some hunting pics in here just so i'll have it down when it's time to post the important pics. I video alot while in the woods so I'll put some of them up also. I've got the second and third week of Noember off work so I won't be doing much serious early season hunting. like I said earlier I hate hunting when the bugs are thick and with all the rain we've been getting their thicker than sh#$ right now. just recieved my package from Cabela's yesterday so I think I'm about ready. I just need get the Camo washed and then I store it in pine bough.
We still need to get a team name picked out and if any of you are good with the graphic's a signature would be nice.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late checking in with you. I'm from Montgomery, AL and primarily hunt on a club and on some friend's land as well. I mainly bow hunt, but I will take my rifle some when the rut comes in-in January.
Sounds like we should have a pretty good team; especially with some guys being able to hunt the mid western states. I usually shoot 5-6 does with my bow, and also a good buck or two, so I'll try to help us out as best as I can.
I was on the winning turkey team this year, so let's keep the streak alive.

I feel your pain brother! My wife and I just finished our "chores" this weekend. Got 7 food plots totaling about 15 acres planted. The last three weekends have been devoted to food plot prep (mowing, spraying roundup, burning, plowing, fertilizing, and planting). Also got 35 stands up with shooting lanes trimmed and trails marked.
WE ARE FINALLY DONE!!!! My poor body couldn't take any more. Now we take the rest of the month to keep shooting the bows, wash hunting clothes, organize hunting gear and back packs, and do my fall cooking! I always cook a TON of food before hunting season and put it in food saver bags. During our hunts we just take the bag-o-grub put it in boiling water and have a good, hot. LOW MAINTENANCE meal. October 1st is getting closer.......
