I just refletched all my arrows with the 2 inch blazers. I am shooting a WB deluxe and the blazers are hitting the side of my rest. I've never had this problem before. Been shooting a WB for four years with duravanes and have had great results. For those of you who shoot blazers through a biscuit have you had the same trouble? Also how do you position your cock vane with blazers and the biscuit. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i feel for you. i almost purchased the deluxe quick shot but got the drop tine q.s. instead. the deluxe has a micro adjustable scale but, in my opinion, has less clearance for the vanes than the drop tine. that is why i stayed away from it. if you look at the two rests, the deluxe has the quick shot opening directly across from where the biscuit holding bracket is. i think this makes it tough to get good vane clearance while still having all three vanes go throught the bristles. most everyone i know, shoots with the cock vane up with an original biscuit or a droptine model. i doubt that you will be able to do this with a deluxe model. if you turn your knocks so that the cock vane points in, you should solve the clearance problem but will probably have one vane go through the quickshot opening. you may also have one vane go through the black bristles. this will introduce an imbalance to the arrow as it leaves the rest.

i believe the droptine is better because the bracket is located at the bottom of the biscuit. this is the same area where the black (more durable) bristles are. since these bristles are tougher, you should avoid having your vanes slide through them. with this rest, i shoot with the cock vane up and i get good vane clearance and, at the same time, all three vanes go through the brown bristles. the bottom two vanes miss both the black bristles and the mounting bracket and the cock vane goes through the bristles at the top of the biscuit, missing the q.s. opening.

i shoot 2" blazers with a 4 degree offset and arrow wraps. you said that you shot duravanes with no problems. i'm assuming that you shot 3 or 4 inch vanes. these are slimmer and have a lower profile than the blazers and that's probably why you had no trouble before. if it were me, i would try turning the knocks to different angles and see if that helps. if not then i would purchase a droptine. i know that it will work for you with blazers.

i hope you don't think i'm coming down on you or picking on you but i think that carolina archery products dropped the ball on the deluxe wb. it seems like they changed it just enough to make it look different than the droptine and added a micro adjustable scale (etching) and raised the price about $15. i think that the droptine or even the original biscuit are better and that they could have put the micro adjust on them and delivered a much better product to the customer. as it is they put the "deluxe" tag on a rest that doesn't live up to the name. that is just my opinion. i hope the info above helps. wink.gif

Thanks for the info. I have tried it with the cock vaen up, down, and out. I guess I will try it tomorrow with it in and see if it helps. If not I may try the drop tine.

hey,

i just noticed that you are new so let me say welcome. i'm sorry that wasn't in the earlier post but i just realized it. wink.gif also, one final note. you said you shot duravanes with no trouble. it may be cheaper to put duravanes back on than it would be to buy a new rest. i should have put that in the above post but it's getting late and i'm getting tired. blink.gif i don't know which you prefer. i do believe that the blazers are a much tougher vane and will outlast the duravanes. i have some blazers that are three years old and have been completely through a deer's vitals and are still straight. wink.gif

I shoot a WB with Blazers and haven't had a single problem. My vanes clear without any burden at all. I have my cock vane on top. The worst thing you can do is to seen a vane through the black whiskers. They are stiffer and will throw your arrow flight off. WB's are also sensitive to any deviation of you nock point on the string. If you aren't dead center, your performance is going to suffer so make sure you are dead center of the WB hole. Also I have noticed that any imperfections in the vanes will be magnified when shot through a WB. I haven't noticed the WB being any harder of Blazers than any other rest but if your vanes are getting worn because of age or sheer use, change them out to increase accuracy.

Honestly, I fletch my own blazers and shoot a wb...I love them...never had one problem! I don't have a cock vane, I just line up using the bitz jig and off I go! Sorry if I seem frank, but honestly, that's all I do...and I love em

I shoot blazers out of a droptine Wb and I haven't had any problems out of it shooting the cock vane up. You might want to turn the vanes alittle around as long as there is not a vane going through the black part, or you might try 1.5 in blazers depending on what kind of broad head you shoot, or you might want to go back to the duravanes .

Never really cared for the biscuits much. They tend to ruin the fletching alot faster is you target practice alot more
